Scuse the typos , don't even have wine as an excuse ...

Gigondas · 23/08/2012 21:04

Why no wine? I think microbiologist (and love the image) are exactly what you say but also miss the power of orange link

And am being good but hospital is boring.

Hi Cazza - welcome!! How did it go?
More birthday cake left out from yesterday for those that fancy a bit.
I'm in Exeter after being in London this morning. Blimey...I'm tired. But it's fun getting back to what I used to be able to do.

graciesmall09 · 23/08/2012 21:24

Forgot to wish mas happy anniversary.

Can't get the Emend topsy as all my drugs are sent from a pharmacy in England and would have needed to be ordered today. Also onc is in Spain AGAIN. If I don't move about too much I can keep it at bay. off to bed now as lying down helps.

Laetissimus · 23/08/2012 21:25

Power of orange - gig - George Hamilton? Mmmm - rather Terry's chocolate kind of orangeGrin
Still waiting nervously until Tuesday - but keep being nosey following all of you lovelies x

amberlight · 23/08/2012 21:27

Gigondas · 23/08/2012 21:49

MaryAnnSingleton · 23/08/2012 22:46

YUM, stuffed with lovely food and prosecco and then some chocolates at home...
amber so happy that you are returning to former life with vigour- don't wear yourself out though !

topsyturner · 23/08/2012 23:19

Mmmmm George Hamilton , you orange stained silver fox ...

Gracie that's really crap .
Can your GP help ?
I suppose not as it's being done under your insurance cover .
Deffo nag at them to get you some for the next course !

Should really go to bed .
Tomorrows appointment isn't till 12.30 , but have 2 reluctant risers to drag kicking and screaming gently encourage out of bed in time .

Gig have you had your night time meds ?
They always brought mine round after midnight the selfish feckers !

overthemill · 24/08/2012 06:35

morning all, couldn't sleep, woken up with little cold so sneezed myself awake!, make uppa, had nausea meds and then sat down not quite sure what to do with myself. Had rotten very low day yesterday, just dreading really the next few days of feeling like crap. Need to get my positive head on but can't find it.

Do have wig trying on today which my sis is taking me to. Very mixed about this and so far have all my hair (though very short!) but know it's best to get the wig done in case/when i need it.
daughter skyped from Italy yesterday. She looked so relaxed and happy I was kind of pleased she wasn't here, but oh my lordy, how I ache to cuddle her! She is back next Wednesday...

jchocchip · 24/08/2012 06:39

Morning all! glad you had a good day mas and amber hope you are not overdoing it!

p**ing it down here. dh has put bread in overnight and it smells scrummy - ready soon.

Hello to caz how did you get on yesterday? did you get the path results and do you have a treatment plan now? I'm coming up to one year since my lumpectomy and just had rads, but the lovely people on here really held my hand through it. I've been neglecting them recently as 'normal' life has resumed and gets in the way of mn!

jchocchip · 24/08/2012 06:45

xpost otm sneezing yourself awake! you don't have to be positive if you don't want too. It's easier for other people, but you need the sofa, fbs of choice if you are up to it and someone to press the buttons on the remote if you are feeling crap.

Hope trying the wigs on with your sis is ok! Could be fun....

overthemill · 24/08/2012 06:51

jchocchip hello! thanks, i know that's exactly what I would say to someone else i just can't seem to be able to give myself permission to slob. Did have weird dream about school which unsettled me (as I won't be back until after chemo finishes in January)

jchocchip · 24/08/2012 06:59

permission to slob! you don't need permission, sounds like you need to be ordered, and watch out for amber with her duct tape!

jchocchip · 24/08/2012 07:01

dh tried that fasting diet and was shouting in his sleep last week. Dreams are strange things...

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/08/2012 08:29

waving to jane and sending love to overthemill

cazza40 · 24/08/2012 10:00

Thanks for the warm welcome my appointment went ok yesterday but all the lab results are still not in so no treatment plan yet - have to go back twice next week so surely they will be back by then. Cannot believe it is so slow. Dont really feel i have any kind of control of things until i know the plan. To be honest am really nervous if chemo is planned

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/08/2012 12:55

how really annoying - sorry that you are still waiting. If you do have chemo I know the chemo ladies on this thread will tell you that it's all doable and you'll get through it - though of course the anticipation is horrid.

SparkleRainbow · 24/08/2012 14:45

Sparkle runs in casting fbs onto trolley, rushes round hugging everyone.....and rushes out again.....

sorry very busy here, currently in middle of overseeing new ds mobility friendly steps being built in terrace and front door. Photos will follow they look fab, wide sweeping and made of sandstone to match the cottage.

amberlight · 24/08/2012 15:53

Ooo, hug and trolley - excellent!
Cazza, no results yet?? Shock Grr.
Have a Brew
I am back. Er, and at the office. But I'm not working, and there's tea.

Chemo: It likes some people. It doesn't like others. How were you with any pregnancies or with travel on the high seas? If you weren't too bad, chemo won't be too bad either (generalising wildly). If it's yuk, there's tons of potions they can give to lessen the effects. I worked all the way through it, as I'm quite mad.

zzzzzz.....

Gigondas · 24/08/2012 15:58

Cazza - am sorry no results but chemo is doable ( it's going in as I type).

That said I am stuck here til Tuesday- I feel ok but as they can only identify 1 out of 3 bugs they grew off me (I am nothing if not fertile to bacteria Grin) won't let me out without 3 more days of Iv antibiotics . Grr, gnash etc

Waves to sparkle and everyone. How are Overthemill and Gracie? Hope Topsy ok a appt (thought of you).

Oh and amber dont make me get the duct tape Grin

OP posts:
graciesmall09 · 24/08/2012 16:43

Hope appointment went well topsy. I'm sure you will be swinging from the chandeliars when you get that wound healed.

Cazza Chemo for me is doable but not pleasant. I did have hyperemesis when pregnant but I have a syringe driver which gives me constant anti-sickness meds so I'm getting there. Can't wait until it's over though.

gigs beginning to think picc lines are the work of the devil Grin. I am counting down the days until it comes out.

amber do you ever stop? Can you pass me some of your get up and go because mine has definitely got up and went?

Waves to jchoc, sparkles, overthemill, mas and any one else I've missed.

Still feeling yuck. I know I need to up my fluids but everything just tastes horrid.

amberlight · 24/08/2012 17:10

Gracie, I shall parcel up some GetUpAndGo and send it across....but you need to rest, not be leaping about like a mad thing.

Gigondas · 24/08/2012 17:12

Chuck some to me. Moderately good news is I can go out and about (including I guess home) between Iv doses but still here in theory til tuesday
Also bastard line will go in again for next round Hmm
