Oh poor you and dd cd, hope she's better soon. x

uwila · 17/02/2006 12:51

Oh, that's good to know. Not far from me.

How is the minidrac today? Did they give you an idea of how long she's likely to be unwell?

CountessDracula · 17/02/2006 13:00

she is ok, nasty rattle in chest when she coughs, she is in good spirits, bounces around a bit then goes pale and lies on sofa for a while. I am trying to keep her quiet with dvds etc

I will keep her off next week as well, think she will be better by the week after.

Uwila yes is close to you I think, is ST Peters close to you too? DH always says he would rather go to a vet than St Peters as they have so many claims against them for negligence

uwila · 17/02/2006 13:06

I'm with your DH. When I was pregnant with DS (9 months old now), I went to the GP in Sunbury and told him I didn't want to go to St. Peters. He was raging Ar*ehole andsaid "I'm afrain you don't have a choice" I walked out, registered with a GP in Hampton, and she got me into Queen Carlotte.

You couldn;t pay me to go to St. Peters. My nanny has strict instructions that if she ever needs to get the kids to a hospital she is to get to Kingston and not St. Peters at all costs.

GDG · 19/02/2006 10:42

CD - Jools just told me your dd has pneumonia. I sent dh to A&E with ds1 this morning and he's just phoned to say he's on oxygen and they've done a chest x-ray - they suspect pneumonia.

Ahh, so I'm not a hysterical mother after all. Been to the GP twice over the last 2 weeks - this is one of the reasons I never feel confident going to the GP. He's been ill for 3 weeks and is skinny as anything - when he got up this morning and was breathing was very fast I just thought 'enough is enough'.

Just waiting to hear from dh again about whether he'll be coming home on AB or staying in for IV.

Is your dd on the mend now CD??

CountessDracula · 19/02/2006 11:27

oh no GDG Your poor ds1 I hope they sort him out quickly.

DD is much better, in fact she is out with dh atm at the swings (her first time out since getting back from hosp) she is under strict instructions not to run around as that makes her cough badly and go all pale and have to lie down.

I am amazed at how fast she is getting better though. Let me know how your ds1 gets on

CD - glad your dd is much better.

GDG - oh no! Hope your ds1 is home soon.

Roll on Spring!

GDG · 19/02/2006 19:53

Hi, he's been admitted so dh is staying in overnight with him (ds1's request!). I've been there all afternoon and have to say I'm quite pleased he chose dh to stay! Boring isn't the word!!

He has to keep the oxygen on all the time as his SATS drop right down when he takes it off. He's had his first dose of IV antibiotics and he seems brighter already. In fact he said the words 'I'm hungry' for the first time in 3 weeks!! He gets a second dose tonight at 10 and then again in the morning at 7. He needs to be off the oxygen with SATS over 93 for 24 hrs before they send him home so he could be in another night.

So glad your dd is on the mend CD - that's great news

dinny · 19/02/2006 19:54

oh, these poor little ones. wishing them speedy recoveries.

foxinsocks · 19/02/2006 19:59

oh GDG, so sorry to hear about ds but glad you followed your instincts and it sounds like he's in the right place at last!

Hope he gets better soon.

poor little thing GDG - he sounds worse than dd was her SATS were pretty good most of the time - they did give her a whole day's worth of antibiotics in one 20 minute infusion so I guess maybe it worked very fast or something.

Glad he is in the right place (and you don't have to be lol!)

chapsmum · 19/02/2006 20:41

Really hope thing improve for you all

Bugsy2 · 19/02/2006 20:58

Heavens GDG, just seen your news. Hope your ds is better very soon. IV antibiotics kick in much quicker than the oral stuff, so hopefully he should be home again shortly.

JoolsToo · 19/02/2006 21:00

me little boy he's soooooooooo thin!

he's getting sorted though!

JoolsToo · 19/02/2006 21:01

glad your dd is recovering well CD

nutcracker · 19/02/2006 21:01

Sorry to hear about Ds GDG. He sounds like he is doing quite well though. Dd slept straight through for 5 days when she had pneumonia cos she was that exhausted with the effort of breathing.

Hopefully he'll be out before you know it.
