Thank god is Pneumonia, we had a horrid and scary day yesterday and now are back home thank goodness. Not to be recommended

I can't even imagine how scary that must have been. So glad that it has turned out not to be the diagnosis.

Wallace · 16/02/2006 17:47

Very scary for you.

Dd had a virus yesterday with very high temperature, and complaining of a sore neck and head. It did worry me, but she is fine today. Oddly enough she had exactly the same thing two weeks ago!

Echoing all the "thank Gods" - you must have been so scared. I know I would have been.

Glad the hosp were so good too.

Hope DD is feeling better soon.

wilbur · 16/02/2006 17:56

That sounds like a nightmare, CD, so glad it wasn't meningitis. Although pnuemonia is pretty . Hope she gets better soon.

Aero · 16/02/2006 18:02

Poor wee thing. Ds1 has just recovered from pneumonia (again), but thankfully had none of the scary meningitis like symptoms like your dd - you must have been so, so worried. Pneumonia is bad enough and I can spot the symptoms a mile away in ds1, so he was treated fairly promptly - not nice though. Hope she's feeling much better soon. How old is she?

CountessDracula · 16/02/2006 18:11

Aero she is 3.5 - how long does it take to recover? She seems alternately fine and still v pale and tired atm.

Thanks everyone

Poor you CD. We had a scare yesterday too - my sister's baby was rushed to hospital. She was vomiting blood, poor little thing. Thankfully started to improve within a few hours - just seems to be a bug which had irritated her stomach.

Hope your dd gets lots better soon.

I'm so glad it isn't meningitis, not that pneumonia isn't bad enough! You must have been terrified. Best wishes to you and your dd for a paeceful recovery.

Nightynight · 16/02/2006 18:54

How awful. Hope she is better soon, and you can get over such a shock quickly.

JoolsToo · 16/02/2006 19:12

glad things aren't quite as bad as you thought - but pneumonia is no bed of roses either - hope she's soon on the mend

Rhubarb · 16/02/2006 19:14

Shit! Sorry to hear about this CD. No mother ever wants to go through that kind of hell, so you have my empathy. Hope things can get back to normal for you soon.

Blu · 16/02/2006 19:15

Bloody hell, poor you, poor all of you. I really hope she recovers quickly and without further ado.

I've only just seen your thread C.D and wanted to send my best wishes on... you were so helpful the other day with my cake decorating dilema!

I hope your DD is well again soon, thank goodness it wasn't more serious.

PeachyClair · 16/02/2006 19:36

how scary, glad to hear things are better now.
Take it easy CD.

puddle · 16/02/2006 19:47

Poor you. We had a meningitis scare at the weekend and were referred to hospital clinic - all fine though, just this really nasty virus that's doing the rounds. There's nothing quite like that pit of the stomach cold fear is there?

Hope your dd makes a swift recovery.
