OP posts:
topsyturner · 28/03/2012 12:24

Spent my morning teaching myself how to import CDs into iTunes on the laptop and then transferring them onto my phone .
A) why did I never know you could do this ?
B) why am I so rediculously excited that I have managed to do it ?
C) why is almost all my music pre 1985 ?

Am happily dancing round the house to Beautiful South , soon to move onto The Eurythmics .

Haven't listened to music in soooooo long , this is fab Grin

topsyturner · 28/03/2012 12:25

Who called you a grown up sometines ?
Let me at em Grin

smee · 28/03/2012 12:30

DS obviously is a top driver - would you like some lessons, Kurri?! Grin

Ooh, Beautiful South. Love them. Everything But The Girl's my current fix, though yesterday was listening to Prefab Sprout. Grin

Am having weird period pains but thought I was menopausal as haven't had a period since chemo (June 2010) Confused

SparkleRainbow · 28/03/2012 12:36

Grin at smee's ds driving to work....is that when he is off to save the world from mortal peril....!

Hope you are having a good day with ds smee.....sorry about the work pressures though.

I feel lacking in stealth costume....may be able to rustle up a princess outfit or a pirate....at some point ds did have a ninja mask, which he scared the hibjibeeies out of me, by dressing in it first thing in the morning and standing silently by my bed until I woke up!!!!!! Don't leave on the mission without me will find something.

Gracie and Gig I am thinking of you. x

MAS I think you are in great need of our love and some Brew, so will pop the kettle on for you.

My mum is totally stressed by down sizing, she wants to have the flat remodelled too so she is stressed by that too, my sis is meeting with her and builders at the flat whilst I type....I have to go and see her tomorrow, to see if I can help. She is cleared alot of stuff out of the house, but is currently holding onto diy materials saying she may need that screw...Hmm me thinks the builders will bring their own! Apparently she said to my sis yesterday she had forgotten how small the flat was......arghhhh too late now!

Off to take collect ds from school now, he has the clinical psychologist this afternoon....will not be fun I think, might take him shopping after as therapy for the therapy!

Love to all. x

Sometimesiwonder · 28/03/2012 12:37

Sounds disappointing, Smee. Definitely not wind? Grin

Music is very therapeutic, it can snap me out of all but the very direst mood. And eighties stuff is very cheery (apart from Tears for Fears, obv)

Was it easy, Topsy? DH does that a lot but I have never ventured that far down the technology route.

DH bought me an ipod nano for Christmas but I can't make it stop repeating the same track over and over so it is gathering dust Blush

Sometimesiwonder · 28/03/2012 12:38

Cross post Sparkles.

Good luck this afternoon - and don't forget to keep breathing tomorrow!

Gigondas · 28/03/2012 12:54

Sometimes have you hit the repeat button- looks like crossed spaghetti so need to unhit it to stop it repeating .

Am round now- no vac but drain in so fingers crossed don't have to stay in

Sometimesiwonder · 28/03/2012 13:00

Gig - I think so but I shall go and check - thanks!

smee · 28/03/2012 13:01

Ooh well done Gig. Hope they let you home. Must be a relief to be out the other side. x

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/03/2012 13:17

yay, well done gig - hope you can go home.
Thanks sparkle for the Brew what would I do without my tamoxifen ladies ?
smee I did go into Fortnum's in my stripes (underneath a shirt) !!
Interestingly I have or am just having my first period in 6 months- weird- maybe that's why I have been feeling so disturbed ? some hormonal surge possibly.

OP posts:
Gigondas · 28/03/2012 13:28

I bet that it is your period mas - have had more than my fair share of disturbed periods and IMe the hormone effect on your mood a lot worse.

Make sure you double click the spaghetti sparkle as it sounds like its sticking on one track repeat (prob sa

smee · 28/03/2012 13:39

MAS, we'd have to agree on a colour scheme. Grin

I think you're right about the hormones - would be great if it is that, as at least you can see a cause.

Curious about periods. I have no sign yet other than v.recognisable cramps. Am a bit disturbed by it all really as my tumour was top end hormone receptive and I thought Tamoxifen was supposed to shut it all down. Confused

Waving to Sparkle. I have bribed a tame teenager to take DS to the pictures to see the new Aardman film. Am a bit jealous actually. Still, means I have actually got some work done. DS wasn't driving btw, they've gone on the bus. Grin

Gigondas · 28/03/2012 13:44

What is going rate for bribing teenager these days? Dss used to do a fair bit for a pizza.

Have both dss ,dsd and their respective other halves coming on hols with us this summer- am hoping it will be like kids club except you pay for it in alcopops.

smee · 28/03/2012 13:52

This one likes Pizza too - he's not related but is chief babysitter. Today I have paid for cinema and popcorn, and will also give him some money too. Am a bit miffed as he's off to Uni in the Autumn. Will have to find another one..!

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/03/2012 14:12

aw,hope they enjoy the film smee Grin at ds not driving !
Am not sure how all this hormone thing is meant to go- am sure the tamoxifen will be doing it's job smee

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 28/03/2012 14:14

I did have period pains but no period some months ago- think before Christmas .

OP posts:
topsyturner · 28/03/2012 14:33

It was surprisingly easy sometimes , am actually a little Blush that it took me this long to sort out !

Is that you done gig ? How are you feeling ?

I haven't had a period since my 2nd chemo , I do still get the odd cramp . But no periods , which I can't say I am disappointed about Grin

Off on the school run now , glorious day .
Shall be blasting my ears with a little Allannis Morrisette on the walk !

smee · 28/03/2012 14:51

He loved the film, though said it wasn't as good as the TinTin one. I hated that, so have decided he's a lousy critic. Grin

smee · 28/03/2012 14:53

On periods, I don't miss mine either. Just weird to have cramping after all this time. Pesky paranoia's trying to creep in and tell me I should worry about it, so am mighty glad I'm not the only one. Will sit on the box and eat an ice lolly. Anyone want one?? Smile

Gigondas · 28/03/2012 14:59

Not bad- headache as dehydrated. Watching the fall guy rerun on itv whilst wait to be picked up- it hasn't ages well.

Envy of all those out in the sun.

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/03/2012 15:46

hooray- bcn called me- managed to say more or less what is going on (words escape me sometimes when trying very hard to make myself understood !)She is always practical and wise. Are you home yet gig ?

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 28/03/2012 15:47

jumping on to the box for a lolly...

OP posts:
NedSchneebly · 28/03/2012 16:03

this is my new bag Blush

gig you alright with your new plumbing? Hoping all is draining satisfactorily and you are resting?

eight yay for clear ecg. Poor DS. Are you any closer to finding out what is making school tough for him? Hope you get the support from the school that you need to help him. Sending him and you lots of hugs x

Sparkle fingers crossed that child psychologist not too traumatic for DS> Definitely will need a shopping trip as reward. . . Smile

greylady sending sunshine waves to you for your holiday. This will guarantee it will not snow . . .

figgy wibbly-leggedness is definitely a good reason not to go to work. Hope you had a restful day to catch up with yourself.

Hugs to MAS Hope your bcn has got in touch with you? You are definitely entitled to need help, and brave to ask for it. Sending you lots of hugs and hope you can feel better soon. Not too much dusting. . .

Topsy what news of your friend with MS? I would definitely agree with your taste in 80s music. Crowded House and Roxette prevalent on the ipod here. . . I think pig/dog would be a positive asset on the raid. Does he own a cape?

sometimes I am proud of your prudence, however depressingly sensible it may seem. Look at it as delayed gratification, as you can bet something cool when you have sorted out Harry Honda's (is that right?!) foibles. . . <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=funky+mini+cooper&hl=en&gbv=2&biw=1920&bih=979&tbm=isch&tbnid=4OBQsJb_H0I47M:&imgrefurl=funkydowntown.com/colorful-mini-cooper-painting/&docid=cdCPowexHtPmEM&imgurl=1.bp.blogspot.com/_AYwY74fDryU/Sk8syJnL3_I/AAAAAAAAQLA/4xkVfZBApX0/s400/mini%252Bcooper%252Bpainting%252Bby%252Bmatt%252Bw%252Bmoore%252B3.jpg&w=400&h=268&ei=fSdzT8e3E4rL8QPYhaUn&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=189&vpy=158&dur=1043&hovh=184&hovw=274&tx=154&ty=113&sig=100590263612787769990&page=1&tbnh=142&tbnw=212&start=0&ndsp=43&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">something like this

smee ooh, can I come to Fortnum's for tea too? I'll behave, I promise, and not stick out my little finger when I am drinking tea. . . Smile

gracie what news? Thinking of you lots x x x x

kurri how you doing this afternoon?

Waves to anyone else around. Hope this sunny afternoon is treating you all well x x

NedSchneebly · 28/03/2012 16:06

Ooh, yes, I'll join you on the box for a lolly! Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/03/2012 16:09

We should go to Fortnum's for a treat - anyone able to get themselvews to London town is welcome ! (stripy tops optional)
I think junior smee has many capes -he might lend one to pig-dog.
