Hello ladies, - just taking the plastic wrapper off a brand new thread Smile

OP posts:
NedSchneebly · 28/02/2012 10:18

smee I haven't had any since yesterday, and feel OK! I had one tablet morning and lunchtime yesterday, and then felt OK so stopped it. Definitely going to ask for something stronger next time. Was on max dose for 7 days - should probably get something better.

Spoke to DHs aunt, who worked in cancer treatment before she retired, said that metoclopramide is the first one they try, cheap and cheerful. Emend someone suggested? Ondansetron aunt suggested is v good too.

You take it easy too, won't you? amber can be sent your way with the duct tape too, you know?!

Mum coming today, so going out for a bit of air. . .

KurriKurri · 28/02/2012 10:28

Good vibes for topsy and Gig. topsy you are probably finished by now - much love xx

That was good sleep from tinyGig - she is doing well Smile

Holsten, good luck on the walking - don't overdo it.

Hi to 1in8 - hope you are feeling OK, and nothing too yuk by way of side effects. Nice that your mum is coming over Ned - enjoy your venture out. Smile

Good luck with work Smee (will keep FBS trolley loaded for when you need a break) Figgy - will search cupboard to find FBS for you Grin

morning MAS - buy those trousers, you know you want to...Grin

waving to jane, and everyone else.

You are all such early risers (even those without tinies), - puts me to shame

Housework day at the Kurris today, so expect to see me on here even more than usual Grin

OP posts:
smee · 28/02/2012 10:40

Excellent news on the sickness front then Ned. Yes the Metoclopramide are the lowest level of anti sickness drugs - I think Emend's the top rung and there are others in between. Fresh air sounds good.

Waving to Kurri. Is 'housework day' an annual event? Grin

KurriKurri · 28/02/2012 10:48

Good Heavens - it's not that frequent Smee Grin

OP posts:
smee · 28/02/2012 11:03

Phew, that's a relif. I was beginning to feel inadequate. Grin

smee · 28/02/2012 11:03

Or even a 'relief'..!

Sometimesiwonder · 28/02/2012 11:11

Hope I am not too late to wish positive vibes to all with appointments today.

KK - alarming news on the housework front then. Does that mean I have to do some? Shock

CH boiler totally Kaput. No heating at all and hot water only with a lot of faffing about. DH reluctantly agreed to new one. Hooray!!!

MAS - the zine has arrived and it looks fab, thank you. I am trying not to open the packaging until dd gets home Hmm

smee · 28/02/2012 11:27

Sometimes, you can't clean if it's cold and besides the boiler man will make a mess. When are they coming to fix it??

Sometimesiwonder · 28/02/2012 11:59

True, true [nods sagely]

I think it will be a week or two. We need a complete new one, and we don't even have a price yet. Luckily I am tight when it comes to heating and it has gone mild, so i don't think anyone will notice too much unless we have a cold snap Grin

Knowing how slowly DH and I sometimes get around to such things dd was alarmed this morning about the Newsround report about us having colder winters in future. I told her I think it should be in some time before next winter Hmm

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/02/2012 12:49

am glad zine has arrived ! but bugger about boiler-though if it means a shiny new one, then that's good Grin
Hope ds comes home in a nice mood- he left very grumpily because I'd nagged him about getting a move on (last minute putting stuff in his bag etc etc) -I said please don't slam the door, which he did. Gah ! He'll have been at choir after school (a whole hour and a half's rehearsal) so might well be peed off. He usually comes round pretty quickly, but the joyful return from school is generally not very pleasant. Teenagers, who'd have them ?

KurriKurri · 28/02/2012 13:10

Oh - that half hour or so after they get home MAS - I remember it well, - I used to supply mine with food and drink then steer clear until mine decided to come out of the depths of teenagerdom and decide to be human again Grin

Pain about the boiler Sometimes (although good that it means a new one) hope the weather stays mild until you get it fixed.

Just remembered I'm going to an art demonstration/workshop thing tonight, so will have to make meal early. It think it will be fun Smile

Hope topsy is OK, I think she will have finished at the hospital, but know she had a busy day ahead.

I have to head over to AIBU and check out this cling flim thread.

In the mean time, I am thinking of you topsy and gig.

Dh has gone on a last minute work trip to Belfast....so I have turned the central heating up! I hope you are warm enough sometimes, with out any heating.
Although cold house means dd2 keeps saying she is cold and asking for cuddles under the blanket on the settee, which means I can't do any house work....... shame.

Sometimesiwonder · 28/02/2012 13:43

That first hour and a half after school isn't easy even before they hit teenagerhood, so you have my sympathies.

I guess they aren't happy about it either. Sad

Cuddles under the blanket sound very nice, I must say. Sparkles - did I miss dh getting a new job, then? I am very pleased, I was kind of imagining him still depressed and with nothing to do. And that's always dangerous when depressed - too much time to think (and drink).

Wot is this cling film thread, then?

KurriKurri · 28/02/2012 13:50

Sparkle I also missed updates on your DH's work situation - how are things atm? Hope everything's going well and you are less worried on that side of things.

So jealous that I don't have a little DC to snuggle. I will own up to being a baby sniffer when mine were little (just mine not random babies Grin) - I love the smell of babyness Smile

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 28/02/2012 14:12

me too (missed update on Mr sparkle's job) hope all is very well with him.
I just go and bury my face in Celeste fluffy tummy - she smells lovely

KurriKurri · 28/02/2012 14:15

Wish I could say the same about Little Old lady Dog MAS - she has a special whiff all of her very own Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/02/2012 14:20

aw.. not sure how cats manage to be so sweet smelling after licking themselves -you'd think they'd be fishy.

topsyturner · 28/02/2012 14:28

Where abouts in Belfast is Mr Sparkle ? That's where I live !

Scan was fine , ultrasound lady seemed to think it all looked ok .

Can't stop , off to get DS injected ! Speak later ...

Sometimesiwonder · 28/02/2012 14:30

Top news, topsy!

Sometimesiwonder · 28/02/2012 14:31

I'm glad it wasn't just me who missed Mr Sparkles' news, then. Sometimes I am impossibly vague, I could fail to notice being hit by a truck when the mood takes me Hmm

KurriKurri · 28/02/2012 14:43

Great news topsy - glad for you that its out of the way Smile

OP posts:
Gigondas · 28/02/2012 14:57

Yay at topsy Scan.

Well 6 weeks of radio for me - starting in about 5 weeks time to allow for scar . No chemo as the benefits for it so small and it involves 4 months of heavy duty inpatient chemo.

Am going back for rescan in 2 months on chest modules but hopefully that will be ok (if not may need treatment).

But although was pretty scared and glad dh was there as mind went blank (I didn't properly understand the recurrence risk but dh said fairly low) . Also apparently it's a type of cancer that is less nasty than she thought (last time wasn't certain wasnt a nastier kind- you can see I really took in the science Grin).

Getting referral to a nutritionist as asked for that .

So all in all aside from lung thing as expected (and even that wasn't unknown and she freely admitted may well be pregnancy etc related but they have to check).

If anyone wants baby snuggles I have a particularly milk soaked one you can borrow

NedSchneebly · 28/02/2012 14:59

Nice potter in town with Mum and light lunch in Prezzo - some of that, what did kurri call it? Salady nonsense! Treated ourselves to some nice things in Waitrose for this evening, to be accompanied by a very girly DVD (DH away with work til tomorrow)

topsy that sounds really positive - congratulations! Hope DS OK about being injected x x

Will pop back later to see if any news from gig

Loving Housework Day. Should be introduced into all calendars forthwith.

Good for MrSparkle on new job, if I missed that one Blush hope his trip to Belfast productive and that he doesn't meet topsy's hammer wielding loon. . .

I'm a baby sniffer too kurri Blush actually, I'm a small boy sniffer too - obviously only my own, because that's just dodgy otherwise. . . Because DS has the not sweating thing, there's still a certain scent of baby about him. . . Smile

NedSchneebly · 28/02/2012 15:01

X post gig will read your post properly. . .
