This thread is for everyone who wants to stick to their diet, and would like to benefit from public support in doing so.

Rules for participants:

  1. Define your own limits - post them here or keep to yourself, but be clear and specific about which foods are allowed and which ones are not;

  2. Keep your diary - post here on a daily basis what you've eaten, and how this deviates - if it does - from your goals;

  3. Be honest;

  4. 1 month commitment required - which means that even if you have a diet slip, you are still expected to keep posting your daily reports (and hopefully get back on track in the meantime) until at least 1 February;

Feel free to talk about anything health and diet related - especially the difficulty you're facing when trying to change your eating habits - but please be supportive and sensitive to other people's decisions/choices. Negative or judgemental posts about somebody else's ability to keep to their promises strictly not allowed.

Remember - this thread is more about making it happen than talking about it.

Believe in yourself! You're doing this to become a better YOU.

Hi everyone
sorry I've been awol. I still have houseguests.

I weighed myself on 4 Jan and I was 71.0 kg

I weighed myself on 12 Jan and I am 69.2kg.

That means I've lost 4 lbs without really trying so I am very pleased.

I have tried to reduce cakes, cut out crisps and biscuits, and leave some food on my plate at each meal. I have also been swimming once. I am so pleased.

This week I'm going to do more of the same, and also try and add some fruit to my diet as currently I eat no fruit at all. Even if it is 1 glass of fruit juice per day, I am assuming that would be a good thing?

Hope you are all doing well.

EustaciaVye · 14/01/2012 21:28

I also need to cut out coke and lager, as I have been having both at meal times. I will aim for one fizzy drink per day this week and then next week, one every other day.

Feeling motivated :)

Hello, well I went a bit off-plan over the weekend but am back on track today! Just marking my place and will be back tonight to post the day's intake. Well done all of you who've had more staying power than me :)

vanfurgston · 16/01/2012 11:06

Woolwif my phone was being extra helpful :)
TilltScoutSMum. Good on u that's impressive

When I weigh myself early in the morning I am 5 lbs lighter but at night nowt
I can't keep away from the scale . Must wait a week,

gomummygo · 16/01/2012 17:35

Yay Tilly! Congrats on the great progress! :)

Tillyscoutsmum · 16/01/2012 19:06

Thanks Blush

Now, this is where it gets tough for me. I often drop the first chunk quite easily (because I'm such a greedy pig normally) but then it starts to slow down rapidly and that's when I start to lose motivation. I know that 1-2lb per week off is actually more sustainable long term but I still struggle to make the sacrifices I need to make for such "little" reward.

I'm glad this thread is here to hopefully keep me on the straight and narrow
