This thread is for everyone who wants to stick to their diet, and would like to benefit from public support in doing so.

Rules for participants:

  1. Define your own limits - post them here or keep to yourself, but be clear and specific about which foods are allowed and which ones are not;

  2. Keep your diary - post here on a daily basis what you've eaten, and how this deviates - if it does - from your goals;

  3. Be honest;

  4. 1 month commitment required - which means that even if you have a diet slip, you are still expected to keep posting your daily reports (and hopefully get back on track in the meantime) until at least 1 February;

Feel free to talk about anything health and diet related - especially the difficulty you're facing when trying to change your eating habits - but please be supportive and sensitive to other people's decisions/choices. Negative or judgemental posts about somebody else's ability to keep to their promises strictly not allowed.

Remember - this thread is more about making it happen than talking about it.

Believe in yourself! You're doing this to become a better YOU.

A blow out is needed sometimes. Don't worry about it. Put it behind you and just start again. Bleurggghhh at rich tea though. That's such an amateur blow out Wink

I'm off to my MIL's for the weekend. She is a fantastic cook and dinner is always a full blown 3 course, plus cheese, plus chocs type affair with stacks of booze . Hmm

gomummygo · 03/02/2012 14:03

Hope your day goes better today, liveinazoo. My blowout was last weekend when the guests were here, so no telling off from me! Grin

I don't actually know what a stone is, but big congrats on the weight loss Tillys! :)

Tillyscoutsmum · 03/02/2012 14:24

fluffyanimal · 03/02/2012 14:53

Hi all,

Tilly fab result, well done!
liveinazoo I feel your pain.

Ho hum, my report is that I have put on 1lb Sad so my excesses last week took their toll. Or possibly I'm expecting AF (that's Auntie Flo, not Any Fucker!)

Wednesday:
B- Oatibix, skimmed milk
L - Miso soup, vegan salad
D - 3 slices margherita pizza. 1 slice apple pie, with fat free greek yogurt.
Options hot chocolate.

Thursday:
B - as above
L - Small pot Spicy grilled chicken and veg with udon noodles
D - chicken curry left over from Monday, 1 tortilla (as a chapati stand-in).
Banana and raisins with fat free greek yogurt.
Options hot chocolate.

Today:
B - oat so simple plain porridge made with skimmed milk, banana, raisins.
L - As thursday
D - Probably breaded plaice, small oven chips, carrots.
Options hot chocolate.

It has been a hectic week so I haven't been tracking my food on Myfitnesspal. I wonder if therefore I have been gradually creeping over a reasonable calorie limit. Also I haven't had time for any exercise.
Must do better next week!

gomummygo · 03/02/2012 17:48

vanfurgston · 03/02/2012 20:25

gomummygo · 03/02/2012 22:35

:( Vanfurgston is there some kind of "reward" that you'd find motivating?

Today not so great:
B - Low fat french vanilla cappuccino, 1/2 bagel on the run
L - Poached egg, sunflower seed toast, chai tea
D - Copious amounts of pasta (not good) in a delicious rose cream sauce (worse) with shrimp, scallops and lobster pieces sauteed in garlic butter (even worse)

It is possible that I may burst.

In my defense, we very rarely have access to fresh seafood flimsy excuse and I adore it...won't happen again for years!

Home tonight and then away with work all of the following week and then on holiday the week after that so really just working on damage limitation for the next couple of weeks. Saying that, I'm not quite sure how last night's treacle tart and clotted cream falls into the 'damage limitation' category Hmm

I'm struggling a bit because both dc's have been sick so I've been up lots in the night with them and have been totally knackered in the day. When I'm tired, I like to eat stodgy crap. The 30 day shred has also knackered my knees a bit so I may need to give that a break for a day or two

L - Grilled chicken, veg and udon noodle pot
D - Chargrilled chilli lamb, 2 pitta breads, reduced fat houmous, tzatziki, salad

D - Girlie night out for curry. 1 poppadom and pickles, tandoori king prawns, mint sauce, 1/2 a garlic naan. No alcohol.

Thursday:
B - Oatibix, skimmed milk,
L - Miso soup, veg sushi box
D - 1/2 Tesco ready moussaka, carrots

Weigh in this morning: I've lost 2.4lb! I am now just 0.6 of a lb from my first half stone! Grin
Keep it up everyone!

gomummygo · 10/02/2012 20:06

Long time no see! Was without internet for a few days and been crazy busy catchup for the last two, but am still on the wagon!

Big fan of the Shred now, finding level 3 much easier than level 2. Shouldn't have moved on but DS wanted to try level 3 Hmm! (He is 3.5yo!) Will be going back to level 2 once I'm happy with 3. Really pleased with the results though.

Going well diet wise. I won't do catchup but today:
B - poached egg & thin slice of peameal bacon on 1/2 ww english muffin
L - spinach raspberry salad w/ balsamic and sheep feta
D - currently roasting a small chicken w/ lots of root veg and herbs

Also making hummus so I predict that there will be a snack tonight involving carrot sticks and hummus. Grin

Congrats on the weigh in Fluffy!

Tillyscoutsmum · 10/02/2012 20:22

Hey all

Congrats on the loss Fluffy. We are still the house of ill here Sad The d&v bug has moved from dd to ds Sad. There's not a lot of sleep going on here. I also have the period from hell and have been struggling. I haven't shredded since Tuesday [boo !] but I have pretty much stuck the diet [yay !]

Wednesday (I think !) was cereal bar for brekkie, sardines on toast for lunch and Lamb, chickpea & lentil casserole with flatbread for dinner

Thursday: Cereal bar, Ginger & Garlic breaded prawns & salad for lunch and Roasted cod with lemon, mint & chilli salsa and herby lentils for dinner.

I have been having the odd bits of chocolate here and there (mint aero only has 61 cals for 3 squares Grin)

Today has been bad. I've been running around a bit (as its the first day I haven't been housebound with one of the dc's so had lots of shopping etc. to do). I didn't really eat breakfast or lunch properly. I've eaten two cereal bars, about half a ham sandwich and a handful of chips and about 7 pieces of ravioli. I've got chicken gumbo cooking now.

Busy weekend planned (subject to dc's sickness etc.). I'm at a party tomorrow night and there will be a fish & chip van (and a lot of booze). I'm out for lunch on Sunday at a chinese eat like a pig restaurant.

I think I may weigh in tomorrow instead of Monday and then have the weekend off !
