have a few health threads going, it's been a long 2 weeks, I miss my kids so much it physically hurts :-(
The results from my lung biopsy come back tidal and with it a final diagnosis.
The front runner is neurosarcoidosis but the big c is yet to be ruled out.
So scared just want to press fast forward and get on with what ever it is. :-(

Oh no, largeglass. How scary. Hope GP was able to offer some insight and reassurance. Keep us posted. Thinking of you

Northernlurker · 03/11/2011 18:48

I can't believe your consultant didn't explain his thinking to you - shocking behaviour on his part! Hope you get some answers soon.

LargeGlassofRed · 03/11/2011 23:33

Thanks all, so kind of you to keep posting.
I'm now after 5 hours waiting on a respiratory ward, where there will Neva consultant round in the morning and hopefully some answers. Shattered now so will hopefully get some sleep.

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 04/11/2011 11:44

Good luck. Do try to ensure you make them pause and answer whatever questions you want answering - perhaps even when they come in start by saying I have lots of questions, before they plunge in. Thinking of you too xxx

LargeGlassofRed · 04/11/2011 19:23

Haven't seen main consultant or neuro!

Saw one of the ward doctors who just said I'm staying in until bed is found in Bristol, but have no idea when that will be.
He did say I'll have a camera into my chest through ribs, and they'll take larger biopsys of my lungs.
All done under general, and I'll have to stay there a day or two and probably back to Gloucester for treatment.

Oh blimey, they want you there but they don't appear to want to tell you why you're there.

Big, big hug LargeGlass - keep updating us, we're just as desperate as you to get to the bottom of this.

essexgirl31 · 05/11/2011 07:46

Hugs to you LargeGlass. All this uncertainty must be so hard.

How are the DCs?

happymole · 05/11/2011 08:01

Hi LargeGlass have been lurking on your thread. Just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you and hope you get to the bottom of this soon

Iamseeingstars · 05/11/2011 10:13

Hi Largeglass Sorry to hear what you are going through. The waiting game is the worse thing possible.

I am a bit concerned they hv told you you are having an operation but not giving you more specific info.

I am in hospital a lot and have lots of tests, operations etc and I have to sign consent forms each time. Before I sign the doctor spends ages explaining the test and the reasons for it.

I would speak to the nurse and ask her to put a note on your file that you want to speak to the doctor and that you want a full explanation about what has been found so far and what the next stage is. This is not un reasonable. I'd he can't do it on the ward round then he should make time to come back and talk to you.
Ask each day, maybe twice a day, until you get your answers. You have the right to be informed.

I wish you well, stay positive

RichTeaAreCrap · 05/11/2011 11:13

Hi LargeGlass, so sorry to hear you are still in with no solid info, it must be so hard for you and your family.

I do hope that you get some more info soon on what they plan to do with you and why they are doing it - you need to speak to the consultant so you understand exactly what they are doing.

Try and stay positive and I hope you are comfortable in hospital. Keep us updated if you can and take care of yourself. I'm thinking about you.

giraffesCantDookForApples · 06/11/2011 14:26

thinking of you, remember your first thread. how is the food?!

magso · 07/11/2011 08:26

Thinking of you too. Hoping you soon get on treatment to get you well and back home.

anniebear · 07/11/2011 15:33

How awful for you, hope you get your results and some answers soon xxx

LargeGlassofRed · 07/11/2011 19:51

Sorry taken me ages to update, have been feeling really rough the past 2 days blinding headache, light sensitive, loss of hearing in left ear.
Been in a codeine and morphine daze, but feeling more human now,
Latest update
Had a lumber puncture done today,
Saw a neurologist who didn't seam at all interested and very keen to leave me on respiratory ward.
Saw my respiratory consultant, he spent about 3 mins with me said I'm not going anywhere till I've had the test in Bristol, but he doesn't know when it will be, just soon!

I asked him what I was having done?
and he said, an open lung biopsy, I'll have a drain in for a couple of days after.

So still frustrated and sick if waiting but at least the codeine morphine mix is taking the edge of it. :)
