hello everyone. Like the name, leader?

OP posts:
swings · 18/11/2005 14:28

Oh well, anyway. I saw a very sad thing yesterday. I went to the cashpoint by our local garage and a woman (hard to gauge age but I guess around 35), totally obese, wheezing and coughing, wearing a filthy torn pale grey tracksuit, shoes literally falling off her feet with holes, was in front of me getting out some money. Twenty pounds. Then she lumbered into the garage and came out with 4 packs of fags and off down the road, having to stop for breath on and off all the way, she went. Like a very ill woman of 90.

weesaidie · 18/11/2005 18:24

Sheesh swings... that is hugely depressing! Hopefully it will be enough to keep me from lapsing while out for m birthday night!

charliecat · 18/11/2005 18:29

OMG swings. That sounds awful but its seeing things like that that help keep you off them. Once you recognise that for what it is its impossible to not see it.
My mum had a demented driver behind her yesterday going ape shit and jumping up and down in her seat because my mum hadnt went through an amber light shedd stopped.
Today my mum said that woman behind us..she had been rooting for a lighter..so the rage wasnt the traffic lights, or mums driving, it was the fact that stopping menat she was another 45 seconds away from her fag...she didnt have a lighter.

swings · 18/11/2005 22:13

Oh yes, and that drives you nuts doesn't it? When something's keeping you away from your 'fix'! The only times I've been irrationally impatient with dd were all when I needed a fag.

charliecat · 18/11/2005 22:15

Your a saint then LOL.Ive been on the old baileys tonight.....slurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

swings · 18/11/2005 22:27

Cc ... you crept in on your paddy paws ...

No, not a saint, I frequently get cross of course. BUT there's a particular kind of cross for absolutely no reason that only comes with PMT and fag withdrawal. Know what I mean? A kind of niggling, itching, I-could-blow-my-top-if-anyone-says-the-wrong-thing kind of state?

charliecat · 18/11/2005 22:29

Yep, PMT comes to mind. Most of the time I am aware of the fact I am on high irritation alert due to PMT and can curb the desire to slap/scream/kill people

swings · 18/11/2005 22:39

But isn't that horrible first quitting feeling like non-stop PMT? I was so permanently on edge and restless. One of my biggest incentives to not start again is to avoid the process of quitting again!

What you up to this weekend pussy cat?

charliecat · 18/11/2005 22:42

swings · 18/11/2005 22:45

What?! You're not keeping them off school ARE YOU It's people like you who are ruining the school system. It's people like you who ruin it for all the others who endure, I mean love to go to school on their birthdays.

Utterly irresponsible.

charliecat · 18/11/2005 22:46

Feck awf

swings · 18/11/2005 22:49

Seriously cc, that sounds FANTASTIC. I was so excited about dd's birthday this year. I kept her off playgroup and dp was home and it was fabulous. Dp and I were like kids ourselves, lying in bed in the morning waiting for her to wake up and see all her prezzies. I think birthdays are great.

charliecat · 18/11/2005 22:52

Its that laying in bed moment when you realise you havent quite grew up yourself LOL..waiting for THEM to wake up Must go now. my house is freezing and im, turning to ice. Like REALLY. Night xx

swings · 18/11/2005 22:54

It's good to have a bit of youth in your spirit. Much better than being one of those miserable old codgers on your other thread.
