dropinthe · 12/11/2005 18:47

Somebody give me a head transplant please?
Am dying of a hangover-a bad one after a merry night of many types of drinks out with my mates. Actually lit a fag at home before I went out as had 2 in the house-had about 3 drags and felt sick. Then went out and didn't even think about smoking although was surrounded by smokers!
Welcome, swings to this thread-it can be busy-it can be quiet but there is someone usually lurking! Charliecat talks to herself quite a bit and so does mummyLL-you'll get used to them in due course!
I'm a mum of 2 boys and I stopped smoking on National No smoking day the 8th March so have been 8 months-in that time I have probably smoked 8 fags-none of which I have enjoyed and none of which have made me ever want to start again! I consider myslf to be a fully fledged-NON SMOKER!

I do,however,drink far too much!

charliecat · 12/11/2005 19:28

Drop mad woman what were you thinking?!!!!!!
I am going to have a voddy this evening...think I drink too much too

charliecat · 12/11/2005 19:30

I have been slaughtered on this thread today. God..One Day.

swings · 12/11/2005 22:01

Don't all ex-smokers drink too much, drop?

Gonna look at your link now, cc.

charliecat · 12/11/2005 22:03

Dont post on it Let it lie low LOL

Dodsey · 12/11/2005 22:20

Ah, the infamous charliecat! I've just spent the last 30 mins. reading about you, lol.Are you seeking refuge on a friendly thread?

swings · 12/11/2005 22:23

I read your other thread, cc, I can't believe there are SO many people against what you suggested! Anyhow I put my twopenceworth in. I was on your side by the way. You irresponsible pussy

swings · 12/11/2005 22:24

Oops, sorry, cc, too late! I posted on it before I read your note here.

charliecat · 13/11/2005 11:07

Yes dodsey, everyone nods in agreement with each other over here
I cant quite believe how many people think its so awful for One Day. I break my neck to get them there on time every day. Even got a ten quid taxi in a couple of weeks ago to make sure they were there in time.
Never mind. Different Folks Different Stokes.
I think we should open a new thread soon without my name in it LOL.
I had a dream the other night that I had smoked a fag...was totally kicking myself in my dream and when i woke up I knew something was not right. Id woke up expecting to be craving nicotine and I wasnt

1yearoffthefagscat · 13/11/2005 11:13

Had a change of name will anyone recognise me now?

swings · 13/11/2005 13:15

Who is that strange person? It's not charliecat is it? Nah ... can't be!

Nightynight · 13/11/2005 13:27

dont change this thread title, its brilliant. congrats on your fagless year charliecat!

there should be a sort of mumsnet badge system "500 message thread" or "1000 message thread" you only qualify when youve started a row

mummylonglegs · 13/11/2005 14:41

Hey cc, you get my CAT yet? If not, I'll re-send.

Awww ... I love this thread title. I wanted to repeat it when we start the next one. 'charliecat and the fag-free angels, part 2'

1yearoffthefagscat · 13/11/2005 16:49

swings · 13/11/2005 22:17

If anyone bashes you cc we'll chuck a bag of Go-Cat at them

charliecat · 13/11/2005 22:39

So in the quietness of this hideout. Is one day out of school that bad, as long as we dont make a habit of it...which I know we dont as dd1 has now been at school for near on 4 years...what dya reckon folks?

swings · 13/11/2005 22:46

Cc, I've just been reading that thread. I think they're all mad! They're like miserable police who think that one day off school means you disrespect teachers and want to see the school fail. MADNESS!!!

charliecat · 13/11/2005 22:48

It is mad...thank you for supporting me with my clearly off the wall thinking LOL

swings · 13/11/2005 22:57

It's actually one of those MN moments where you realise that you're totally different to a vast amount of people who post on here. They're so extreme in the reaction. I kept dd off playgroup, the teachers were totally unsurprised. Anyway I'm defending you and spidermama on the thread itself. Have you actually mentioned that you work in a nursery? So they know you're not some kind of hair-brained person with no interest in education?

charliecat · 13/11/2005 23:05

Nope Boss asked me to work and I said I couldnt coz it was the dds birthdays...LOL....theres someone to cover of course though.
Maybe its because my two were born on the same day...so I couldnt have 1 off without the other or, stemmming back to before school I wouldnt have wanted to send dd1 to nursery whilst spending dd2s birthday with her...dunno.
But I really dont think its THAT awful.
Your dds 3...you have this all to come!?!
Are you planning on any more swinggetts?

swings · 13/11/2005 23:07

Just the one little swinger, cc. She's fab. Plus I was told I couldn't have ANY so never bothered with contraception etc. As you can imagine she was rather a surprise! I seriously doubt I could have any more. Plus I'm ancient.

swings · 13/11/2005 23:09

And yes, she's 3, glorious 3! The BEST age so far. I keep waiting for these 'terrible twos' etc. to happen but so far she's been a little darling. Rather dramatic. Totally antisocial. But hey ...
