Ooops! Sorry-just sent you an email! Bet the chocolate was melted,eh? Hope you like the pampering kit-no excuse now, girl! Shall be on you like a ton of hot fags!

When you going to stop? At the end of the book?

lucy5 · 29/09/2005 14:18

no chocolate was lovely. When I finish book im going to stop. Middle of next week. Ive got terrible pmt and am slightly mental at the moment, so im going to wait for hormones to settle. Cant wait to pamper myself! Thanks again, it was a lovely thing to do

Dropinthe · 29/09/2005 14:25

LOL @ "SLIGHTLY MENTAL"! - That's how I'd describe me ALL the time the way my hormones rage!!

Do it when you are ready and able and strong and willful-then it will work!

lucy5 · 29/09/2005 14:30

Ive taken a sickie and am at home watching it's a wonderful life, so it must be bad! Hormones aaarrggg!

Dropinthe · 29/09/2005 14:34

What the weather like in Viva Espanol??

lucy5 · 29/09/2005 14:40

still lovely. Some days are boiling yesterday it was close to 30, today is about 25. Its cooling though and im glad in the summer you can so very little. There were a few drops of rain here the other day and my dd said "look , real rain" She's forgotten the rainy season, when it rains it really rains, torrentially for about 3 weeks at a time.

What about dear old blighty?

Dropinthe · 29/09/2005 14:46

Today is the first day that I have really felt a nip in the air-just got back from Greenwich where I took boys to see the Cutty Sark and the Thames and they had 4,yes,4 layers on as was so windy! Very Fresh! Autumn has arrived-no Indian summer this year! My Turkish tan has faded,(did you see my boys photos BTW on profiles?) and am now looking forward to Crimbo!

lucy5 · 29/09/2005 15:17

Yes, you all look lovely, ive emailed a piccy of us to you. My dd is convinced its going to snow at xmas, shes in for a shock, last boxing day she was paddling naked on the beach.

Dropinthe · 29/09/2005 15:34

No link on your email,honey!

Dropinthe · 29/09/2005 16:26

By the way all-what does the new thread title mean?

Yes CC-I really did cook a chicken pasta bake in 45 minutes! How's your attempt at looking like a Steptoe Wife???

charliecat · 29/09/2005 17:25

Ive done dinner, broccolli cauli and mash with cheese sauce and guuttd the kids room that dp wont even notice...but i know ive done it...will continue!

mummylonglegs · 29/09/2005 18:38

Drop, you see my posts on here earlier? Sorry to have missed you ...

Had a real palaver getting dd's shoes. She wants the most absurdly impractical ones and as I can only afford one pair at a time that has to be pretty much for everything it all went a bit wrong. So the vile patent leather with little bows on the front were refused by me and eventually we came away with some canvas pumps and black shoes too which is going to leave me broke all month.

charliecat · 29/09/2005 19:07

Arrrgghh what size is she? I have a gorge pair of 9 or 10 f clark shoes sitting in the cupboard

charliecat · 29/09/2005 20:15

waving hello

fionagib · 29/09/2005 22:14

have a lozzie in mouth all the time unless am eating or sleeping
Your poor craving dp, cc!!

glad your cravings aren't too bad mll... dh is loz free, has cold turkeyed. mll - lozenges work a bit like niccy gum, they ease the craving, but sounds like you can do without substitutes - they have helped me loads but wish I wasn't so damn hooked... it's like ANOTHER thing to try to give up...

Dropinthe · 30/09/2005 08:47

Fiona-I was hooked for 6 months on them but they are ten times easier to stop than the fags. I went to Turkey with approx 100 of the babies which I knew would work out that they would run out a few days towards the end....actually,I'm lying,I just didn't take enough! Anyway, when the crunch time came about 4 days towards the end, actually, as my intake increased when the food and wine did,it wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be.I even resisted buying any gum out there and soon enough I forgot about them.
I tasted one the other day and OMG it was VILE!
Give it a go-you might find it easier than you think!

Dropinthe · 30/09/2005 08:48

No probs MLL! Shall we try to go next week one day??

fionagib · 30/09/2005 12:28

Okay drop, will give it a whirl, erm, next week! Glad to hear am not the only one who goes away with a vast stash of the wee white pellets!!

mummylonglegs · 30/09/2005 15:21

Fg, no doubt I'd be doing better than I usually am at quitting if I had gone for lozzies but I just knew that I'd end up over-using them. Typical addict me.

Thanks so much, cc. She's only a 7.5 at the moment though, or an 8 at most. But if they're still waving in a few months and you don't have anyone else who might need them I'd definitely take you up on the offer

drop, yes, let's reschedule. Hey, how did that meet-up go? Did you meet anyone new and exciting?

I'm in further playgroup dilemma. The leader (not you this time cc! ) of the potential new place phoned me today and said they'd have 2 days for dd mid-October and that once she's there she'll be off the list so it'll be easier for her to get more days as they come up. If I don't take the 2 days they'll give them to the next oldest child on the list (dd's at the top age-wise at the moment). But I'm not sure the current playgroup she's at will let her go somewhere else for 2 mornings a week? Should they? Will it just totally unsettle her?

help!

again!

Fiona-my mother is the same as you and I do find it disturbing that she is giving her body a constant supply of nicotine. I use to average about 7-10 a day-about the same as my ciggie habit.

MLL-Yes,met JENWEBBER and another newbie to mumsnet but that was it-still,was nice to chat and the other woman was from Woolwich and quite isolated so we have planned to take ds2 and her dd swimming at the Waterfront which is nice.
Might catch you later as dh going for a rare night out so will have some ample mnet time once kids asleep. O n the down side ,whenever he goes out with this mate he gets blotto and the weekend is a right off! Ho hum!
