I'm here!

I'm veggie too, have been all my life as my parents were too - an easy option for Jews in the UK back in 'their' day I think.

I'm a rubbish cook, seriously. I can stirr fry vegetables. Or I can do the same with a bit of pasta and sauce in too. Or I can put things under the grill or in the oven. Or the toaster. It's like with plants, I just kill them. My food tastes dire. Oh, actually I did get very good at veggie curries when pregnant. but the rice was lousy. I blame it on my mum who is an amazing veggie cook (I think she had to be fairly inventive as you couldn't get any veggie food back then when I was born in the 1930s heh heh heh )

charliecat · 22/09/2005 22:10

I can do a perfect boiled egg and toasties to die for and a good roast too, my crap food tastes good but recipe...ive only ever followed one That was nice, but OH the effort
I am coming down with a flu type thing, my eyeballs are streaming water and I keep SNEEZING...atttchhOOOOOOOOOOOO and I am so so so so HOT>

Poor kitty. Have you got some brandy?

Dd thinks Real Cooking is following the instructions from one of those character cake mix packets, like the Noddy googleberry muffin ones!

mummylonglegs · 22/09/2005 22:14

Oh yes, I can steam veg too. And make a reasonable sandwich.

charliecat · 22/09/2005 22:15

My dds think cooking is doing an angel delight
They eat LOTS of fruit to make up for my crappness. if I had brandy I wouldnt be sitting here Id be laying tits up in bed

charliecat · 23/09/2005 09:50

Sorry MLL, not going to clog up the other thread with this but I am extremely pleased to tell you that after a reassesment of dps CSA (he has a 10 year old son) that has been crippling us, we had 50 quid a week for 4 of our food shopping whilst he was paying 78 quid a week CSA it has been dropped to 0 OMG so so so so pleased.
And his sons mums on benefits so she/he wasnt really gaining anything anyway so life is going to be much more pleasant for us till he loses his job in 6 weeks.
Will be able to clear the bills get some gas and electric stored up for winter ad buy a few chrissy pressies. Phew. Want to cry im so relieved.
