A sad sign of what our nation has become if Reform has genuinely done this well

CrushingOnRubies · 04/07/2024 22:15

It's an interesting line up on channel. 4. Don't much like any of the ex politicians. But the presenter and Hannah Fry I quite like

TarantinoIsAMisogynist · 04/07/2024 22:15

In summary, if the exit poll is accurate - Tories have done better than many predicted, and Reform have done a lot better than predicted. The Tories may be out (which I am glad of), but I'm not sure this exit poll would represent a good result for UK politics - Reform have the potential to be dangerous in future.

So happy! And relieved!!

fungipie · 04/07/2024 22:05

funny - wow, I am not laughing, at all. Gives me the shivers.

Gosh yes, did you see Angela Raynor already saying how Labour will take all your savings and give it to anti-growth wokerati groups. Taxes about to hit astronomical levels 😮😮😮.

piscofrisco · 04/07/2024 22:16

Joking aside, it will be interesting to see actual voter share. I think turn out will be very low which leaves an issue for the mandate a bit.

grumpypedestrian · 04/07/2024 22:13

Dorres still defending Johnson is just, wow.

Muting Widecome though.

But… she loves him.

Fantastic for Labour but no surprise

Great for LibDems I am very pleased about this

but celebration dampened by Reform predictions

MrsLeonFarrell · 04/07/2024 22:17

Radio 4 were saying that with the smaller parties the predictions could be wrong because the margins are smaller. It will interesting to see how they end up.

Mercury2702 · 04/07/2024 22:17

I’m hull too and had to vote around 9pm after leaving my 13 hr shift, Diana Johnson is my local mp. A lot of my fellow nhs workers were voting reform

heinzseight · 04/07/2024 22:18

Alastair will deal with her shit but agree, not sure I can watch her all night. And Ann Widdecombe needs to be taken for a tea break or something.

Has @DistinguishedSocialCommentator resigned from MN yet?

SeriaMau · 04/07/2024 22:19

OneOfThoseOldFashionedWomen · 04/07/2024 22:12

A total collapse of the SNP is the one good result. Labour should be mindful.

As they should of the reform vote. Don't castigate people for voting for them, ask why people feel like they need too

Because they want to use immigrants for target practice?

I’m not sure about low turnout. It was so busy where we are. Ballot box was full and there was a queue of 5 in front of me and 12 behind me. Everyone at my running club said the same of their polling stations as well.

heinzseight · 04/07/2024 22:21

It wasn't raining, I think the turnout may be pretty good this time.

CaveMum · 04/07/2024 22:21

My worry is that the Tories will lurch further to the Right and try and cosy up to Reform in the misguided hope of appealing to their lost voters.

Zanatdy · 04/07/2024 22:22

Happy for a labour win, but disgusted that reform could get so many seats. I don’t get what would make anyone tick that box.

That's really interesting, @Mercury2702. What's their reasoning?

gingercat02 · 04/07/2024 22:22

I'm on holiday, so BBC or Sky are my only options. So BBC, it's is.

PrincessTeaSet · 04/07/2024 22:23

Reform urgh.

It was very busy at my polling station. Usually don't see anyone else there but there was a queue this time

Edited

Yes; similar at mine.

Raspberrymoon49 · 04/07/2024 22:23

Off you fuck lying, cheating scumbag Tories

Jutemat · 04/07/2024 22:24

Why stress about Reform? Still a very small fry. Look at the headlines, its a whitewash!
