Delighted and quite teary.

The calm, measured approach is a joy.

Recognition of the mess the country is in, including behaviours and morals means there is no overpromising.

A fresh start.

crowgift · 05/07/2024 05:21

now I need to find Kinnock's reaction to Galloway?!

murasaki · 05/07/2024 05:21

I have to say, in case I forget later, it's been a great pleasure watching this with you all.

My first mumsnet election, and great fun, you witty and politically aware people.

I wish you all good sleep later!

DramaLlamaBangBang · 05/07/2024 05:22

I'm surprised Moggs seat went Labour. I thought it woukd go Lib dem.
Norfolk looks interesting. It's normally a completely blue county apart from Nirwich South but the whole if Norwich is now Labour and I think thete is at least one Lib Dem. I hope Truss gets her arse kicked as well. She is appalling as a constituency mp.

Fishcake18 · 05/07/2024 05:22

I had three hours Kip 1-4. Working later will be yawning! Think it will come into client sessions!

You do know that's not because Norfolk likes Labour don't you?

It's because Reform split the vote.

Anyway, Milliband is back, yay.

Speculation that Liz Truss may be in third place?

You were up all night? Respect! We took the opposite approach, went to bed immediately after the exit polls and woke up super early - guess this makes us the morning shift.

Ah no, I went to bed at half ten, got up at 3.

Dp is now up to go to work (construction, they start early) so we have a bizarre situation where he is fully dressed and drinking coffee, and I am in pj's with a glass of wine.

That predicted 140 odd seats is looking increasingly unlikely I think.

I’m propping my eyelids open for this! It really sounds like she’ll lose.

Historically Labour seats always declare first. Yes, Labour have obviously won, but you'll see a load of Tory seats come in now. Happens every time.

That's very true.

I am still waiting for two seats to declare. Both former conservative strongholds. Makes sense. I might give up.

I was about to go to bed, but I've got to stay up for this. Might as well make some breakfast while I'm waiting.

These BBC commentators are annoying. I'm probably just sleep deprived but 😡

Live blog feed for Liz Truss’ area (last update about her constituency was 3.46, picture of the Labour candidate smiling at the count)

In Norwich North Labour got 45% of the vote. Reform were nowhere near. I'm not sure about North Norfolk. In Truss's constituency there is a strong local independent. She is an even worse constituency MP than she was Prime Minister if that's at all possible. G Yarmouth is the only one gone Reform.

They have lost 140 so far with 116 left to declare.

Fishcake18 · 05/07/2024 05:31

New cup of tea. No chance I'm going back to sleep now!

Agree with Starmer, it will be time for dedication now. And see why he tried to reach out and appeal to all voters- no way they could do this or be here without trying to listen to the voters who have voted Tory and reform!

Fishcake18 · 05/07/2024 05:32

Cannot just discount these voices- they are people and help decide elections- they matter.
