Every woman who voted labour is like a turkey voting for Christmas

Okay.

Me too! 😆

Every woman who voted labour is like a turkey voting for Christmas

Why?

Would you please explain some points to back up this argument?

Farage at Clacton count. Result must be imminent. Please hope Clacton residents didn’t fall for it, but I am not holding my breath.

Yeah, no way Farage doesn't win his seat, sadly.

Oh yes absolutely. Fascism thrives in poverty and neglect and we need to fight and counter it, seriously, wherever it springs up.

So far all that most people have done is laugh at them or dismiss them. Those are the worst things to do. We have to take this seriously, debate seriously and present a working robust alternative.

That is a bit of a shocker, I wouldn’t have thought they would have had such a big slice of the vote in a constituency with such a high profile candidate.

Appalonia · 05/07/2024 02:58

Nick the Incredible Flying Brick!!😂

HauntedBungalow · 05/07/2024 03:00

Aw, I quite like the MRLP. They're like a built-in protest vote. Certainly better than all the batshit independent candidates you get.

MotherFeministWoman · 05/07/2024 03:00

Bloody hell how many are standing in Starmers constituency?

viques · 05/07/2024 03:02

It must be a bit of a blow when you can’t even get your friends to vote for you, two of the candidates in Starmers constituency got 40 votes and 19 . Huge swing against Starmer , even though he won, interesting.

What I have noticed is that in seats that are comfortably libdem, reform share of the vote is less. It's in places that are strongly left or right that they do well.

Btw, notice that Keir has been subconsciously influenced by his MRLP rival - referencing "incredible" st pancras.

Apileofballyhoo · 05/07/2024 03:03

I was thinking that, viques, a lot who didn't vote for him.

HauntedBungalow · 05/07/2024 03:05

Yes, less than a ringing endorsement.

Tarquina · 05/07/2024 02:13

Reading this thread, I see that everybody who has mentioned the reform party has expressed utter hatred for it and everybody in it.

I have watched a couple of videos where Farage has laid out their manifesto and it seems that he wants to make Britain great again. I cannot understand why the people on this thread think this is a bad thing.

We already have 10 million recent immigrants, who are putting a massive strain on our benefits system and most are young men with very outdated ideas about women.

I cannot understand why you as women want more and more coming in. it's like a silent invasion, and why you are all standing by applauding and cheering it and demonizing anybody who wants to put a halt to it. I think you all need to have a word with yourselves.

@Tarquina do you really believe that Nigel Farage and his ilk are a paragon of womens rights? I highly doubt it!!! Make Britain great again... like the 1950s when women were forced to slave in tut kitchen more like and bring 'ard working man is supper, pipe and slippers

Make Britain great again is just empty words and slogan! Reform have no sensible policy and they've had to disown about 6 of their own party for despicable behaviour and basically being racist. I cannot understand why you would want to back a party of racists and bigots? Marylepen of the far right looks set to take over France...let's see how they get on first shall we....?

Just because someone votes labour or non reform parties doesn't mean they want every tom dick and harry coming to the UK. What people want is better controlled immigration. Frankly we partly made our bed, ironically when 'Britain was great' and had a big British empire- thus many nations learning English and now wanting to be here as a relatively wealthy English speaking country!. The Rwanda policy is inhumane and not the answer either!

You say women voting labour is 'turkeys voting for Christmas'. This is ironic when the Tories have been steadily eroding general human rights....never mind womens rights! Voting Tory was like turkeys campaigning for Christmas everyday! Anyway looks like they are out, good riddance..

According to BBC swing was to an independent candidate with a targeted campaign focussed on Gaza, an interesting result.

Rayner's majority is increased by 2500, and the combined total for Cons + Reform (formerly Brexit) is down.
