Unless absolutely SHEDLOADS of people who voted Conservative in 2019 vote Labour this time.

That's right, isn't it?

Is this “discussion” actually achieving anything?

It's keeping the thread well bumped Grin

Harriet Harman of course has a string of driving convictions, including a ban for driving at 99mph and reversing into a parked car using her mobile phone - ironic that she was elected chair of the MPs' standards committee.

Harriet was convicted. She did wrong and then paid the price.

Boris knowingly avoided taking responsibility for his actions. He repeatedly swerved the same rules that apply to others through a loop hole scam and then boasted about it.

There is a difference.

"I think it is important that people do have an opportunity to be with their families to have some relaxing, unwinding. But I wouldn't want to overstate the amount of unwinding and relaxing you get to do as prime minister because as I say you are constantly in touch, you are constantly being briefed and you remain in charge of the government."

Damien Hinds MP when Boris Johnson flew to Marbella with his family.

Yet Harman paid the penalties involved. By contrast Johsnon didn't pay the penalties imposed because he failed to park legally. Do you think avoiding properly levied fines, which requires active dishonesty, is acceptable in anyone, let alone a Prime Minister@Clavinova

Boris Johnson was a student at the time. Keir Starmer 'illegally' sold ice creams on the beach in France when he was a student.

This is really grubby and unedifying. I'm not engaging further.

I agree. The fact that the poster concerned is trying to double down on it is really quite shocking.

The posts that I (and others) find objectionable ae not in answer to my posts.

Obviously no-one can dictate what you choose to post, but when you are so clearly in the wrong some might think it appropriate to withdraw gracefully rather than attempt to come back with an "answer".

Instead, you've popped over to the other thread to ask if Keir Starmer has a penis beaker. Confused

I did withdraw gracefully by not replying to CassieMaddox at 15.20.

So, Survation poll, what do we think?

Labour can't win

I’d like the Libdem and Tory figures reversed. Some people are never happy!

Clavinova · 02/07/2024 21:27

If I were a Labour voter I'd go to Alton Towers instead of bothering to vote.

good thing you’re not a labour voter then. just a serial tory apologist.

RishisLeavingDo · 02/07/2024 21:31

Where do Tory voters go, Peppa Pig World?

Defence?

A convicted killer applied to be transferred to a woman's prison.

Phillippa Kaufmann (instructed by Scott-Moncrieff, Harbour and Sinclair) for the claimant.

you are bonkers to bring up Starmer’s ex-girlfriend’s case from 2009
He’s been married since 2007

Starmer's ex-girlfriend donated to his leadership campaign in 2020 according to Tom Baldwin's biography. Also, the case shows that a transgender woman was transferred to a woman's prison under a Labour government.

Sorry, two different points: it’s disgusting to imply that Keir Starmer might be tainted by acting for the defence. That paragraph didn’t name you.
Looking at the case of the trans woman transferred to a women’s gaol in order to live as a woman, I can see the advantages of changing the requirement of two years living as a woman to a two-year cooling off period.

Wow. Even if there is a massive margin of error, Labour are going to win by a landslide.

PerkingFaintly · 02/07/2024 22:17

After how badly polls have got it wrong in the last few years, I won't believe anything until the morning after.

Perhaps the polling companies have changed their methods to catch up with other changes, but I'm not assuming anything.

The bookies are usually right. They’re in agreement with the polls.
