Unless absolutely SHEDLOADS of people who voted Conservative in 2019 vote Labour this time.

That's right, isn't it?

Personally I want boring politics where we don't hear about them doing hideous shit everyday and just get on with their jobs.

I'm sick of MPs being the news and I think Starmer will give us that.

I agree but I actually don’t think they realise this will weaken their hold ..
theuve stuffed it now with the vile word that was used against Rishi so they can’t make a pact and keep Stalin out and Elton is backing Labour so .. he will win it for them .. how weak is Labour that they have to get a superstar to lean on 🤷🏻‍♀️

All politicians have musicians supporting them. Mainly left wing.

I mean Springsteen wasn’t happy about ‘Born in the USA’ being played at a Republican conference. And Johnny Marr banned Cameron from liking the Smiths, and Radiohead were horrified be liked them. Even Rod Stewart is supporting Labour, Elton John is one of many.

Tony Blair and Liam Gallagher.

Which musicians support the Conservatives? Um……

I don’t think the Director of Public Prosecutions did much defending.

Blair/Browns 13 year tenure wasnt exactly great

It seems idyllic compared to the Hellfest we are currently living with. I have lost track of all the scandal and corruption, Johnson tainted everything, they knew what he was but were willing to risk it to retain power. A proven liar who has betrayed colleagues, wives, mistresses and employers, who lies like the rest of us breathe, a self serving charlatan who has been sacked from every job he has ever had. Blair and Brown look like political giants and beacons of integrity in comparison. We have had 5 PMs in those 14 years. My friend's little girl has had a total of 3 PMs in her short life, she is 3 next month, that gives a good perspective on the chaos we have endured.

Plus people are used to globalism and apart from a few right wing nut jobs don’t really care that much about immigration.

Do you genuinely believe this?

Because I've seen rapidly rising resentment, and given the future migration level that are forecast...I can't see that improving by people trying to downplay or ignore it.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 29/06/2024 22:33

Jaydafran · 29/06/2024 21:05

I do think there'll be an increasing right wing following with younger generation of white kids.

‘A younger generation of white males’

Men are moving right and women are moving left. This has been discussed in various papers.

The ‘Taylor’ effect is inspiring young independent liberal thinking women.

Andrew Tate is inspiring young right wing men.

Yeah l do. No one l mix with is bothered by immigration,

Its not even the most important thing for voters either. NHS and cozzie livs are more important.

You are deluded if you do not think that immigration is a huge issue with many voters.

Given that white working class boys are doing the worst in the UK education wise, I think we need to start concentrating on how to level them up with various schemes and policies to solve this.

Otherwise they will keep drifting further right.

They won’t come out because of posts that can be very vitriolic.. and many keep a lot of things private anyway ..
desperate times starmer call for desperate measures .. Let them in and I will get the popcorn ready .. buckle up it’s going to be a bumpy ride 😂

I don’t think it’s as big an issue as people make out.

Its not the top issue. And the fact that all Rishi does is bleat about small boats and ignores failing nhs and cost of living shows why they are so out of touch.

You think Elton John is what will win labour the election?

Labour are winning at this point no matter what. There's nothing "weak" about them right now.

VoteOutToHelpOut · 29/06/2024 22:38

Is @BrendaSmall going to return in order to explain how Labour was to blame for what happened under Tory administrations? 🤔

Pedallleur · 29/06/2024 22:38

MikeRafone · 29/06/2024 22:25

Re the 2008 crisis, was Sunak or Brown more influential?

sunak made his millions betting on the crisis in 2008 - so whilst everyone else suffered he made millions on the back of it.

As did Crispin Odell with Liz Truss and his protege Kwasi asked him nicely to be kind and not short the pound. Crispin didn't.

katebushh · 29/06/2024 22:39

If your biggest problem is people moving about the planet because you think humans should remain in the enclave they were born for their entire lives you are a very sad specimen.

StaunchMomma · 29/06/2024 22:39

It’s not that they won’t come out, it’s they don’t exist.

I can’t think of any situation where insularity is a positive thing,

katebushh · 29/06/2024 22:42

If we had powers that be who built and employed enough facilities for the population as it grows we wouldn't need a press to tell you all everyday that it's those fleeing wars with brown skins fault. Most of those wars are started by us lot and our mates anyway.

katebushh · 29/06/2024 22:45

If your biggest problem is people moving about the planet because you think humans should remain in the enclave they were born for their entire lives you are a very sad specimen.

The problem isn't that people 'move around' the globe.

The problem is the sheer amount of people, that will soon need to move. And the fact that they will be moving into concentrated areas of the globe.

At a speed that infrastructure and social cohesion will never keep up with.

Only an insane person would believe that no country should have borders, or control its immigration numbers. Because then that country would cease to be. No weak or vulnerable people could be looked after anymore, the resources would be gone. It would be the survival of the fittest richest.
