I was considering voting for Labour, but their manifesto proposal to change the VAT on private education has made me reconsider. I'm not financially well-off, just about managing, and I took on two jobs to afford the fees for my son’s private grammar school. Despite our efforts, he couldn’t get a place in any of the five local state schools due to oversubscription, and our appeal was unsuccessful. We were instead assigned a school outside our area with a poor Ofsted report. Faced with this choice, I opted to work harder to provide him with a better education privately. The proposed VAT changes would make it even harder for families like mine to manage.

For me, Labour doesn’t seem to understand that not everyone who sends their children to private school is wealthy. I don’t like the Tories either, but I would rather vote for them than for Labour.

It IS being used as a threat. GIVE ME WHAT I WANT OR I WILL KILL MYSELF. And it's mainly adult males who are doing this.

Also I really hope they do (win, that is) as these intolerant, hostile / hate attitudes towards other people and minority groups such as race and trans people are more and more emboldened under this Government and I want to feel we live in a more peaceful society.
Impossible if we don't at least try and get some change, I don't want more of the same shit

Exactly. 'Zealot', 'Emperor's New Clothes', 'Intolerance' gets banded about by TRA's to shout women down but the irony is that these sums up trans ideology perfectly. And it is an ideology.

There is no compromise, no empathy, no understanding given that there may be valid other appoaches. Nothing.

You use the vulnerable as an excuse, not for their benefit, but for yours. This cause you fight for them makes no difference to their lives, and they'd probably rather you put your energy into something else that might benefit them. But you don't.

No, I have merely pointed out that many of the GC on here have made this their hill to die on, despite the fact that there are far many more issues out there that impact the lives of women and girls in much more profound ways. You pretend to be speaking for those that have no voices, but this action means that actually you have to do nothing for them, it's easy.

The more insistent you get, the more it is easy to see that this isn't about others.
