Has Keir come to his senses or is he still insisting that some men have cervixes?

What's your view on who a GC woman should vote for?

Miriam cates 😂 oh yes, if you don’t like women being educated and being chained to the kitchen sink !

Rather a misrepresentation of her views isn't it?

CheshireCat1 · 23/05/2024 19:31

Labour

BIossomtoes · 23/05/2024 19:32

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 23/05/2024 19:06

Do you think they will actually fix anything?

Yes.

I don’t understand how idiotic you have to be to think this is the most important thing. Even if you feel what gender people are has anything to do with you, I don’t understand how you think it’s MORE important than having schools that aren’t falling down, a healthcare system that functions and enough money to feed your children. It’s so obsessive and weird.
Like the people who voted for trump purely because they didn’t like the fact Hillary “stood by her man” when trump was raping people and having affairs left right and centre.
I think people should be ashamed of themselves who are considering voting Tory and sacrificing their fellow humans and OWN CHILDREN on one invented tiny issue

😂😂 that's told those idiotic women who know that no woman has a dick and don't want to vote for a bloody plonker that says they do. FFS.

Conservatives are the only party that are making the right noises re women and children's rights.

And yet, and yet, the currently contentious legislation including self-ID has all been introduced under the tories

The GRA was introduced under Labour and self id is NOT law.

Wasted vote here for the first time in my 62 years
Starmer and his misogyny can fuck off

100% agree.

Is this thread for real? If this is seriously the biggest issue and a true vote-swinger for you then you must be living quite a privileged and sheltered life right now.

Well not really because this bullshit ideology affects the most vulnerable women in society far more. Prisoners for example...

Livinginaclock · 23/05/2024 19:41

Tory. for the first time ever.
I'm a single issue voter.

Thank you for ensuring women’s lives are far far bleaker under a Tory government. We really appreciate it 🙄

Poverty affects them more. They’d probably never be in prison in the first place if we had a government that gave a shit about them.

anniegun · 23/05/2024 19:44

Labour , its a culture war project designed by the Tories to spread doubt. Don't fall for it unless you think Liz Truss style economic are a price worth paying to keep the Civil Service from wearing rainbow lanyards

GingerPirate · 23/05/2024 19:51

Won't be voting for anyone.
(Not born in Britain).
It's actually a relief.
😐

What about girls with autism, a history of trauma or mental health issues? All vulnerable and over represented in the numbers of transitioned girls. Or lesbian girls? GIDS used to comment that the clinic was like conversion therapy for gay kids.

What about women from certain religions who will be back on the urinary leash as they will be unable to use public loos? Or those with trauma who would not cope with a man in their single sex space. All vulnerable women.

Yes.

Fair enough. I have my doubts.

Sunak is no more proposing Liz Truss style economics than Starmer is proposing Corbyn style economics. *

And if it is indeed a "culture war", that war is being waged by the people trying to change the law to allow men to more easily become legally female.

*although I'm fine with this, it's apparently not a vote winner

It's great that you and both know that humans can't change sex.

The problem is too many senior Labour figures would say we are hateful bigots for expressing it. (While some in the SNP or Greens would like to make saying it a sackable or even a criminal offence).

For me this is a problem of an even higher order than the very serious questions of how our public services and economy are run. A politician who thinks stating a simple well known truth deserves "consequences" or "repercussions" is entirely unworthy of my vote as I have no wish to live in an Orwellian dystopia.

Absolutely spot on.

I will not, under any circumstances vote for a party that supports self ID. I will be reading all manifestos carefully but if it comes down to it I'll be spoiling my vote.

Then why are labour falling for it and proposing to make it easier for adult men to get female birth certificates?

Labour introduced the GRA and now claim the process has too many barriers, but its really a culture war project designed by the tories?

"Easier" means quicker, cheaper and less bureaucratic, not to a lower standard.

When doctors and the public purse are under so much pressure that's a good thing surely?

They’re not. They’re simplifying the process for trans men and trans women. The criteria remain the same. Remind me who reduced the fee for GRC to £5 to “remove a barrier for trans gender people”.

It isn't, no.

She's utterly beholden to conservative Christian loons who would happily have women back in sack cloths and denied any sort of liberty, so the further away she is from any sort of governance or representation the better, for all women.

Hopefully out on her earhole by July 5th.
