Can we vote for Lectern Guy?

the80sweregreat · 22/05/2024 17:13

I'm actually dreading it all
My Tory MP is fine though :(

I'm in !

Westfacing · 22/05/2024 17:14

Oh, get on with it, enough of the waffle!

Looks like Labour will be in. I’m dreading what they will do for women’s rights.

At least women will be treated in A and E and their children won't be hungry. There are inportant policies and there are critical ones.

TheSandHurtsMyFeelings · 22/05/2024 17:14

Blimey, not sure invoking the covid fiasco is a good idea, Rishmeister

LameyJoliver · 22/05/2024 17:14

sp1ders · 22/05/2024 17:10

What are the 'five priorities'?

Increase homelessness.
Ensure more sick people die.
Make more people hungry.
Ensure the lower echelons can't access education.
Stop the police investigating actual crime.

But but but.... women!!!!!!!
Because the Tories have an excellent track record with female rights. Jesus. Single issue voters really don't get it do they?

I heard a man n the radio today saying he will Never Vote Tory again, after always having done so, because His Family have now been slightly affected. No shits given about the majority of course.
Where is actual empathy in these people?

Of course things will be hard under a different Government for a long time but who are these people who think the Tories have done good stuff for this country? And what is it?

RishiSunak · 22/05/2024 17:14

Hello Mum,

I'm on the telly!

Yes me! On the telly!

BeforetheDawn · 22/05/2024 17:15

I came on to remark on Hot Lectern Guy. Might need to examine my priorities before July (but am so fecking done with politicians, who are all as slippery and shady as each other imho.)

Westfacing · 22/05/2024 17:15

All the experts have been predicting an Autumn election.

But here we are at last.

Justcats · 22/05/2024 17:15

Oh get on with it.

SaltBlossom · 22/05/2024 17:15

Is this a resignation?

MermaidEyes · 22/05/2024 17:16

Oh yeah - if this is right, I'll be taking the next day off work so I can stay up all night watching the downfall.

If there is no downfall, I'll be using the next day to cheer myself up.

I was just saying to DS I need to book that Friday off! He's gutted it's going to be 4 days before his 18th.

Surely Sunak can't think he'll win an election in 6 weeks time? Maybe he just wants to end the pain.

Oh he knows they're cooked (finally). It's calculated at minimising losses because he'll blab about his "successes" re inflation and Rwanda and some idiots will fall for it which might win Cons a couple of seats.

I'd like to think nobody is under any illusion of the shit they are leaving us in, now also alongside a massive £10bn+ infected blood inquiry compensation which we all and the Labour govt are now left to pay out. Get them out, but also remind Starmer of women's rights.

Ohgoodlord · 22/05/2024 17:17

He's getting piss wet through and can barely be heard over the music. What a farce.
