Just a little fourward planning . We are all looking forward to another thread of fabulous pictures. It can be a quiet time but I am sure some of us will have autumnal colours to share . The trees are starting to turn here . I have just picked an allium from my photo collection to start the thread off .
You are very welcome to finish or visit the old thread . I do not know how to do ... this is the old thread here thing .

They are stunning @Blogdog

Blogdog · 30/06/2021 07:37

Thank you! Turns out the advice to cut back, feed and mulch in late winter actually works Grin

AnneKipanki · 30/06/2021 08:29

Beautiful @Blogdog. Are the fragranced ?

Blogdog · 30/06/2021 09:14

@AnneKipanki sadly no. They don’t repeat flower either so in some ways I regret planting them. The two weeks they are in flower are fab though. I experimented with growing some clematis through them this year to see if it would add some colour when the roses aren’t blooming. It’s not really working though - I think the spot is too dry for them.

Have you got room for pots underneath?

This is a ragged robin that I saw while walking the other day. It likes marsh.
Apparently it is becoming rare . It was only in a small area .

@AnneKipanki 😂😂😂

When I read your post I kept saying to myself...."oh, poor little unfortunate Robin...all ragged and such...but AK must have posted the wrong photo...all I see is a pink flower in her photo" Finally, the penny dropped that the pink flower is called ragged Robin ...wake up, SP...that jet lag is a killerGrin

Thanks all for the lovely comments about my Sweet Peas. @Furries it's my favourite floral fragrance too, and my grandmother used to grow them, I used to help her and that's where I caught the bug! Now I send her photos of them and thank her for teaching me my gardening skills! I hope your beautiful Roses are ok after your mini flood.

You're right @applecatchers36. I love bringing the gorgeous scent indoors.

Lovely favourite spot you have there @WobblyLondoner.

Beautiful Roses @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet, @Billybagpuss, @Blogdog & @AnneKipanki! As usual I am envious. My Roses pale in comparison!

@AnneKipanki I have in my head that I saw on Gardener's World a while back that Philadelphus has a lovely scent, particularly in the evening. Am I remembering that right or getting completely confused??

beautyisfoundwithin · 30/06/2021 17:06

My Rose contribution. All from the same plant, I find the colour change really interesting.

That is extraordinary @beautyisfoundwithin.
You are right too . The scent is glorious. It I also called mock orange blossom.
It is my favourite time of year when it is in full flower and fills the garden.
I usually miss it as we go to France at that time of year.
We are here this year. 🤞🏻We get to appreciate it in full .

Thanks @Sweetpea1532 & @AnneKipanki.

She is pleased especially as it skipped a generation, my mum has absolutely no interest in gardening whatsoever. She makes me laugh though as she'll tell me my flowers are very impressive and I obviously must know what I'm doing and I say well if I do it's only because she taught me all I know! 😆

My Sweet Peas are really going crazy this year, I've just picked another whole bunch! Also got my first (teeny tiny) harvest of peas and mangetout 😋
