Just a little fourward planning . We are all looking forward to another thread of fabulous pictures. It can be a quiet time but I am sure some of us will have autumnal colours to share . The trees are starting to turn here . I have just picked an allium from my photo collection to start the thread off .
You are very welcome to finish or visit the old thread . I do not know how to do ... this is the old thread here thing .

I can imagine, AK...was there scary lightning and thunder? Did you put on your trainers so you'd be safe from the lightning?

AnneKipanki · 25/06/2021 13:37

😂 I did not see any lightning or hear any thunder. I had slippers on as I was cooking, tidying up , and watching telly.

Forgot to say, the giant evergreen in the photo is a Torrey Pine....they are only supposed to grow in San Diego( not where I live) hence the TorreyPines Golf Course ( and only grow in one other location in the world..cant remember where) As you can see, they get very large and broad. The pine needles are extra long and thick and grow in clusters of 5. Unfortunately, this one was planted on the side of a slope and appears to be leaning...I fear one day it will go crashing down on my neighbour's home....yes, it would improve my view, but I would be very sad to have it fall over...there used to be a hawk's nest in it...a murder of crows scared the hawks away...crows aren't my favourite...and they are MEAN birdies!😂

Sweetpea1532 · 25/06/2021 17:23

@AnneKipanki
Thanks!

We all are very fortunate to have lovely views...that's one reason I enjoy your threads so much! They show each of us the beauty all over this amazing planet...now, how do we stop destroying it?HmmConfused

AnneKipanki · 25/06/2021 17:29

@AnneKipanki
Is that the very tall pine that was in some of your photos last year? It was very beautiful as I recall and created a nice backdrop for your flowersSmile

AnneKipanki · 25/06/2021 18:21

I think so . I will have a look through my photos.

I love your new addition @Sweetpea1532! Nothing wrong with being patriotic! Anyway it's a gift so it came from a good place, regardless of what your neighbours might think! Is that the ocean in the photo of your view?? 😲🤩

Sorry to see your Rose damage @AnneKipanki, glad your GJ was ok.

I've had an explosion of Sweet Peas and have managed to fill 3 vases already 😍 one of my favourites is this white one with a very delicate purple edging. Also another Rhododendron is flowering 😁

@beautyisfoundwithin - your sweetpeas are stunning. I’ve not attempted them yet. But a long ago childhood memory is of the smell of my grandparents garden, my granddad always grew them. I think it’s my favourite floral fragrance.

Furries · 26/06/2021 01:50

@AnneKipanki - glad GJ survived the downpour. Hopefully the red rose isn’t to battered and will spring back.

@beautyisfoundwithin - oh, that toad is so cute!

Furries · 26/06/2021 01:56

I went out for an hour very early evening to get some shopping for my mum - she live around 10 minutes drive from me. While I was out, there was a really intense downpour for about 15 minutes - never seen anything like it before in such a short space of time.

Came home to find this - I kept expecting to see little pond fish swimming past my feet! I don’t think any amount of shaking is going to rescue the rose shrubs, the battered limbs have been drowned! Going to cut them all back tomorrow.

Mother Nature, you never know what you’re going to get!

@beautyisfoundwithin,
You are right!
And my NDN already has green and red laser dots projected all over his house, so our little flag is barely noticeable Grin...yes, that is the full moon shining on the Pacific.

@Furries ! That's an amazing amount of rain. I'm so sorry your beautiful flowers have drownShock

Sweetpea1532 · 26/06/2021 02:52
