My first Nasturtium flowered today, one of my little Lavender is just beginning to flower, and I bought a sweet little Chrysanthemum that I couldn't resist at the supermarket!

Two plants that keep on growing, getting better every year. Hydrangea Incredibal and the other is an alstromeria but I forget it's name.

Phwoar! That Hydrangea is lush!

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 28/06/2020 21:18

Wow, the Pom Pom's on that hydrangea are to die for!

Timesdone · 28/06/2020 23:39

What a fantastic thread, the roses & peony pics have brightened up my evening, & it's great looking back at early spring & seeing the seasons & plants change. So much creative planting, it's pure joy. All of the hours I've wasted looking at all the griping on AIBU when I could have been here instead, never mind, now I know.

Timesdone · 28/06/2020 23:58

@beautyisfoundwithin, I've just seen your peony pic but haven't read the whole thread so apologies if someone has already said this. The peony looks like a Coral Charm and they start off orangish and then change to pink, eventually fading to almost white. They're stunning & I've got 3 on order but not being delivered until November. I doubt I'll see any flowers next yr (or maybe longer) but one day they'll look amazing. The last peony I planted took 3 yrs to produce some blooms. I read that you should keep watering & feeding after they've flowered until about September as that gets them ready for flowering next yr.

I know. It is such a pleasant thread.

@Timesdone your hydrangeas are beautiful, so white!

popgoesperfection · 29/06/2020 09:57

Wow they're like little luscious clouds !!

Timesdone · 29/06/2020 10:06

So you pleased you all love my hydrangea, it lifts my spirits every summer. It was a Christmas present from my son (requested) about 8 yrs ago. It was 2 brown sticks & he was embarrassed to give it to me. I told him it was fine & would grow but he wasn't convinced but it's worth its weight in gold now 😂

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 29/06/2020 10:16

That is so sweet @Timesdone ❤️
And I think that is exactly what that Hydrangea is.... ''incredible''

AnneKipanki · 29/06/2020 10:45

Yes... @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet is a BIG fan of hydrangea. The thread is also her idea👏🏻

Afternoon Smile I've been at work this morning (all on my ownsome) and snapped the crocosmia on the way out.... hardly anyone is getting any benefit from our garden this year so I thought I might as well share them Wink

Oldraver · 29/06/2020 12:49

Oh the crocosmia are lively, mine are still just leaves

The holiday cottage we go to had about a 30 ft run of them. I am very jealous

AnneKipanki · 29/06/2020 13:48

Beautiful!

Dahlia, rose, Hydrangea Smile

I'm actually going to learn about what I should do with the dahlia for winter. I'm very ashamed to say that they usually fall victim to the first frost ...

What a stunning Hydrangea @Timesdone! Also thank you for the info, and the advice about feeding and watering. I planted mine 2 years ago as a bulb/tuber and this year was the first year it flowered, and there was only the one flower! I planted a different Peony at the same time but it hasn't flowered yet.

GiantKitten · 29/06/2020 17:22

Hydrangea lovers!!!
I’ve just been to Asda, and spotted these lacecaps - on my way out, dammit! (couldn’t be arsed to queue again & anyway DH has an illogical hatred for hydrangeas)
Some of them are really astonishing colours. There were some pinks on the top of the rack but they were all very droopy & sad.

Does anyone know what this is?

goingoverground · 29/06/2020 17:52

It looks like Dianthus, @notgreenfinger.

notgreenfinger · 29/06/2020 17:54

Thank you! I bought it reduced & sad in the midst of lockdown & had no idea of what it was & if it would even survive. But it's flowered & I really like it.

ditavonteesed · 29/06/2020 18:11
