What's this in my shed then...?

A mass (about the size of my hand) of small grey black metallic-looking shiny balls (looks a bit like caviar, only bigger).

I guess they're eggs of some sort, I would just like to know what I'm going to be infested with, when they hatch....

Don't think that matters :o

pepperpots · 31/03/2006 14:01

This thread has really cheered me up i was having a real down day, just the usual kids shouting this and the other, piles of washing blah, blah but now i am rofl although will be watching the toilet like a hawk GrinGrin and will not under any circumstances be taking any trips down to my shed

Nbg · 31/03/2006 14:03

I'm glad we're leaving our shed when we move.

Nbg · 31/03/2006 14:04

I bet feistybirds dp is prodding the things as we type

and they have been eaten as a result.

Kidstrack2 · 31/03/2006 14:05

i'm off to check the shed(or hut as i call it) to see whats lurking before i head to school to collect ds!

Kidstrack2 · 31/03/2006 14:06

rofl Nbg, yep think if we haven't heard anything, you should go round and check on them!

nailpolish · 31/03/2006 14:07

dh once went in to the shed to get his car cleaning sponge (the giant kind) and it was in a million tiny pieces - a mouse had nibbled it and made a nest for its babies

it was rather sweet

Kidstrack2 · 31/03/2006 14:10

awwww

Feistybird · 31/03/2006 14:19

DP is home - he has looked at the 'mass' and he reckons there's just too much of it to be butterfly eggs - if you compare it with google images. Gave him the heebyjeebys too.

promised me they're not spider eggs tho...

So what to do with it....keep it and see what happens, bin it or just move it?

set up a webcam

Nbg · 31/03/2006 14:23

Put them in a jar and watch....

Nbg · 31/03/2006 14:24

On your head be it though if you move them!!!

Feistybird · 31/03/2006 14:25

oh and found another smaller blob of them too.

OP posts:
Nbg · 31/03/2006 14:26

Just think the mother will be watching from somewhere.....

Feistybird · 31/03/2006 14:29

ok, just prodded with a pair of secateurs.

OP posts:
jmum6 · 31/03/2006 15:02

you could put them into jar and do a big brother style commentory for us each day.

"Day 1, 8.56am, the eggs are still all asleep. Nobody has moved"

pepperpots · 31/03/2006 15:08

poke them again just make sure you give yourself plenty of space to ............RUN AWAY!!!!!! GrinGrin

Feistybird · 31/03/2006 15:30

lol Jmum - there was no popping, they're quite er...rubbery actually.

OP posts:
Feistybird · 31/03/2006 15:30

anyway, DDs want to keep them.......in their bedroom.

OP posts:
jmum6 · 31/03/2006 15:32

Ich!!!!

You gonna let them?

Feistybird · 31/03/2006 20:06

I would rather the kids moved into the shed.

The blobs are still there....

OP posts:
Nbg · 31/03/2006 20:08

But what would be worse....

Having them in a jar so you can see what they hatch in to?

or

Leaving them, the blobs hatching and scutling off somewhere and not knowing......?

Feistybird · 31/03/2006 20:12

hmmm...good point. DP will have to move them tomorrow.

OP posts:
Feistybird · 31/03/2006 20:13

anyway, keep imagining I'm gonna walk in there and forget and

squelch Shock
