This is a thread for supporting all young people post GCSEs 2020, regardless of their educational setting. It is respectfully requested that all are supportive and helpful to each other. If you want to start a debate, e.g state vs private, please don't within this thread. Please also be sensitive when responding to threads about grades.

Some of us have been here since first thread back in yr10, some will be new. Everyone has been friendly and helpful in the past. Everyone is welcome. It is hoped this will continue.

Our DS/DD may go down various paths (such as employment, apprenticeships, higher ed) We have decided for anyone interested they will most likely find us within the Further Ed board.

Gosh lots of firmed plans showing…gulp. I think we will see if Swansea put on another open day and try again. We are all negative now and starting to feel human again.

1 more day until half term - much needed here. DD had her dyslexia & ASD testing done yesterday. Took 4 hrs! She was exhausted afterwards. Just got to wait for the results now (well have to do a couple of tests again at home with her to so it's not just a snapshot on 1 day apparently. Also a typing speed test too.

Good luck on the offers for those that are waiting. Good luck with health tests and hope those that are feeling rough feel better soonest.

Anyone doing anything nice over Easter?

DS got his accommodation offer last night. Single study at L&W. He is not a happy bunny. At the very least he was looking for a 3/4bed room even without the bathroom stuff but no.

That's a shame Just, any chance it will shake up on offers day?

I can't quite believe how many Uni's still haven't sent out offers. Is it always this late, or like everything for our kids is this year...ahem...different?

Heifer - The testing is exhausting. Last time DD ended up having a long nap afterwards she was so exhausted. DD's new tinted reading glasses have arrived, so we're hoping those help with tiredness.

That’s a shame @JustHereWithMyPopcorn. I guess the en suites must be most popular. Still can’t understand why dd hasn’t heard, as she’s requested shared bathroom.

@crazycrofter DS applied for shared bathroom + but didn't get even the shared bathroom. No idea why your DD shouldn't have heard by now as DS was looking at similar. Maybe different halls than he applied to is making the difference?
