Not the end of the threads, just this chapter of life. We'll keep going, don't worry!

However! Not to be used until this one is done

She's been bloody amazing actually after her initial upset. Set me up with an instagram account. Apparently I'm following everyone with cat videos and she's been looking forward postively to the summer. I'm really proud of her.

I hope all the George's are being fruitful and multiplying.

Hahaha to any household help here in the foreseeable future!

DD needs to spend Saturday rediscovering her bedroom, she has been using her brother's to sleep in and her own room as a floordrobe/floor based fling cabinet/storage system. He is back from uni next week (with a large car full of stuff - just you all wait!).

She will need to spend Sunday washing all the clothes from the floordrobe and getting sorted for her holiday.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/06/2018 22:42

Can I pretend we finish tomorrow? only fp3 and m4 on Monday, so that's done really isn't it?

Absolutely Kitten

Then we can all help you celebrate again on Monday!

YippeeTeenager · 21/06/2018 22:49

MrsAwesomeDragon, I can just imagine the look you got when you mentioned chores! I’m sure they are expecting to be let off anything quite so mundane for a good week or two! DD said last night that she’s going to find it hard to switch off now, so she might just do a maths past paper a day until the adrenaline wears off Confused. I wasn’t expecting to have to do phantom exams...
Good luck for the morning fellow C4ers. And budge up on the finishers bench, it’s about to get busier on there. I’m bringing Champagne and party hats (and a pillow as I fear I may need an afternoon nap).

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/06/2018 22:49

Excellent!

Currently enjoying a GandT to celebrate the end of GCSEs. Will be flying the flags on Monday once A levels are finished too! I'm proud of both my kids resilience and attitude, and am just hoping that their results open the doors for them for the next steps.

All the best for all mathematicians tomorrow, we have C4 only I think...

YippeeTeenager · 21/06/2018 23:08

That’s lovely Panda, well done to you and your DC. We’ll cheer you over the line on Monday.

derekthe1adyhamster · 22/06/2018 06:31

It'll all be over for us at lunchtime! Smile
Chores start tomorrow as the in laws are down on Sunday and both Dh & I are working tomorrow

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/06/2018 07:07

Just one more cooked breakfast to make.

Last one! Last one! Last one!! 🎉

After 7 weeks of GCSEs + A Levels I can't believe this day is finally here! Grin

Good Luck everyone for C4 and any others today. 🍀

See you on the finished bench at lunchtime!! GinWineCake

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/06/2018 07:14

Well done Lobster, you survived :)

I checked on George yesterday. There have been no more escape parties since I moved Worm Towers into the shadow of the fence so it doesn't get the sun. There were plenty of casts in the bottom tray and plenty of worms in the top tray so their caffeine rich diet of coffee grounds, tea bags with the odd toilet roll middle hasn't killed them yet. I bought home another bag of compost yesterday because it will be the end of the season before they produce anything, I was hoping that the ants would bring up the good stuff from the bottom of the big compost bin so I didn't have to turn it but they don't keep up with demand.

Best wishes for those of you finishing today, see you on the other side.

Downeyhouse · 22/06/2018 07:40

Good luck to all the mathematicians for today.

Ds is thoroughly fed up and stressed. The sun is shining - most schools break up here today and he still has 10 days to go :(

This weekend will involve lots of toc and trying to keep ds2 out of ds1 s hair and sight.

Am thoroughly jealous of all the finishers.
But pleased for you too. Our turn will come.

LoniceraJaponica · 22/06/2018 07:52

Good luck to everyone today.
After a stressful early morning yesterday (including a 3.45 am panicky phone call from DD while checking in at the airport - don't you just hate Ryanair?) she is now safely ensconced in her holiday apartment in the sun. OH and I are off for a relaxing weekend sans DD.

Your turn will come Downey

marmiteloversunite · 22/06/2018 08:33

Good luck all mathematicians today!! Nearly there. Gin

NoHaudinMaWheest · 22/06/2018 08:50

Dd has C4 today too. Good luck to all the other mathematicians.

Lonicera I hope dd has a good relaxing break.

Roll on Monday!

LizzieB72 · 22/06/2018 08:56

Good Luck C4-ites. Not long to go!
End of year presentation tonight, we can be there for an hour then we get kicked out so that the year 13's can party alone...!

argumentativefeminist · 22/06/2018 09:12

I know this is for 6th form parents but Im always checking up on this thread in a nostalgic way and just wanted to say any of you can PM me if you or your DC want any advice from a current undergrad! I know how panicked my mum got about it all 😂

lashingsofgingerbeer · 22/06/2018 09:19

Nearly there now Lobster! (budges up seat in readiness) & everyone else, hang in there, not long now! Kitten glad DD feeling better & you had a beer - sorry you still feel poorly though with this viral thing! Ursula DD new nails/retainer story Grin Lonicera nice long weekend for you then - wish I was flying off now - our holiday seems a loooong time coming this year!

Good luck everybody!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/06/2018 09:34

Thanks Feminist :)

dd was very down and gloomy this morning, but it's probably a combination of yesterday, tiredness and the thought of leaving her college. It's been amazing.

As for me, I keep bursting into tears this morning and I don't even know why. I just feel so sad and upset and I don't know, the whole world seems awful and unfair. I'm going to see if there are any friends around to keep me company. Fortunately I'm self employed, so I can rejig things a bit.

a friend sent me a text this morning asking to meet up next week - my "freeze" reaction was, oh no time for anything like that. I think when you've been on hold for so long it very difficult to open up again to other possibilities of fun and happiness and satisfaction OTHER than exam success or dealing with non-success. I talked to someone whose child was at uni after doing really well at A level doing some of subjects ds was doing (is doing I suppose, not was...) and it took me a while to take in what he was saying..that the next step is merely that, the next step not some heavenly afterlife that everything is heading to...his son was finding it good in parts but difficult in other parts [Nottingham btw for English], he is still only 18 in his first year, and he is not so different from last year's student doing A levels.

It relaxed me up a bit and put the whole process in perspective.

still there is a bit of a hole now where A levels and Gsces were. I found myself suggesting to ds that he start looking at reading lists. I'm feeling still quite "wired", I hope I have the patience to let the kids just mooch around for a bit, it feels like there are a thousand things I need to get done and I need their help to do them!!! or else the thought of them mooching nags at my mind...
