What do you have with lasagne?

Cooking for friends this week and am planning to make a lasagne. I was just going to serve it with a salad and garlic bread, not sure what type but should I add anything else? I always worry when I'm feeding other people but I'm probably overthinking it. What do you have with lasagne?

Salad - your plans sound great.

Salad usually or a green beans and broccoli.

Lasagne isn't really a proper pasta dish imo. Unless you're someone who makes it with 50 layers, there isn't that much pasta in it. Which is why it's fine to have carbs with it. There isn't a rule that says you can only have one carb at a time. Just look at a roast dinner.

@Birdsaremyfriends

I think lasagne is a lot richer - more sauce and one of chose is cheese .

Those

I guess that's an English interpretation though! Italian lasagne tends to have less bechamel and no extra cheese.

Salad. Garlic bread maybe.

That's true - I've had lasagne in Italy and it was very solid - you certainly wouldn't have wanted an extra carb side with that !

Cokeslaw most definitely doesn't go with lasagne ! Unless it's without the mayo .

It's fooking lush with lasagne! Live a little.

It's a bit sloppy and textureless if served alone.

Not if properly cooked.

Right I've got lasagne, and coleslaw so going to give that a go!

I need to know @spikeandbuffy24 If you're converted. It's a bloody amazing combo, especially if it's homemade slaw.

@LucyLocketLovesPollyPocket I'm not Blush
I think I prefer a really sharp strong salad dressing. It was a bit too creamy altogether but I did go rogue with the béchamel

Garlic bread and salad. My lasagne usually only has about 6-7 lasagne sheets and it'll serve 4-5 so it's not massively carby.
