The most surprising food your dc's like...

dc has his fair share of food fussiness but also surprises me with some things I didn't expect a 2 year old to like e.g.:

  • smoked salmon (a boy of expensive tastes!)
  • ground pepper added to food
  • mustard
  • raw yellow, red peppers
  • boring dark green lettuce not just crunchy stuff

.....so, what are the most surprising things your dc's like to eat?

Pointy Dog - Why have you only been 1 year as a Munter then?

Have you gone downhill with age or have you progressed up from a minger?

pooka · 28/09/2007 17:48

I've been here nearly 5 years too. Don't think I've come across this one before, but perhaps that's because threads can, at busy times, move down through the active convos so quickly.
Alas, I have rather limited repertoire, so ds and dd into rather mundane food, though ds stripping a blackberry bush is a sight to be seen. And dd rather keen when younger on smoked salmon, but will not touch now If anything, she's become more fussy as she's got older. Hopefully ds wont follow suit because he's pretty set in his ways already!

Boogalooblue · 28/09/2007 17:54

boo64 · 28/09/2007 17:58

DS loves sprouts.

DumbledoresGirl · 28/09/2007 18:01

I think the word you wanted was Mner PD. Although I always read that as Mummer.

pointydog · 28/09/2007 18:03

Twiglett · 28/09/2007 18:13

please

cocolepew · 28/09/2007 18:15

DD1 loves raw mushrooms, blergh. This is remarkable because her favourite diet consists of sweet and sour pot noodles, sausage rolls, hot dog sausages and frozen pizza fingers.

Should I leave now?

Carotte · 28/09/2007 18:17

Oh, mine love quinoi too, Aitch, though I try not to look at it too close as I think it looks a bit like tiny lumps of congealed sperm.

DD is the fussiest except she likes sushi and celery. She would die for celery with her crisp sandwiches

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 28/09/2007 18:35

Last time we did this topic everyone said their DCs liked prawns & the like - so we had to conclude that seafood was actually normal for children to eat.

My 3 DCs eat pickle sandwiches. No ham, no cheese, just pickle.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 28/09/2007 18:38

lol @ munterisms

belgo · 28/09/2007 18:40

my dd2 ate a whole plateful of black paella rice while we were in Spain. It's totally black due to the ink from squid.

it gave her black teeth, black lips and ....black poo the next day!

AitchTwoOh · 28/09/2007 18:52

totally true, duchess. dd loves calamari (is it e or i, pedant chums?) and rice and all fish.
