Mumsnet Village Show - An Afternoon Tea Tray for One

So here we are again.

So far the rules are:

Tea tray for one

Can include anything you want suitable for a summer high tea (sandwiches, scones, cake, biscuits etc) with suitable cutlery and crockery and the like. (Silver service if you are terribly posh)

Five quid budget (on top of what you already have in your larder).

SlightlyMadScientist is the judge (heaven help us...is she properly qualified???)

Oh and all entries will be anonymous this time (A, B, C etc).

Time limit is 9pm next sunday so we can be judged before bed time.

The rules will obviously be bent or completely ignored but so long as its tea ish then anything goes.

Actually I didn't even know what a gimp doll was until last night.....

SconesandMajesticSandwiches · 02/07/2007 10:12

And had I properly understood before I completed the judging it might have scored a little more favourably.....the penny only properly dropped when I was writing the judges card for it....which due to the tension and pressure in the marquee at 9:00:01 was done after the summary results were announced.....

MrsTweedy · 02/07/2007 10:46

What is a gimp doll?

TigiCupCakes · 02/07/2007 21:23

So, what's next then ladies?
cucumber carving?

SconesandMajesticSandwiches · 02/07/2007 21:38

We need to know who Q is though don't we...

It has to be F&Z or LL, surely?

Slubberdegullion · 02/07/2007 21:42

OP posts:
TigiCupCakes · 02/07/2007 21:54

my tele in a diff room. That poor woman hit in the chops while on the coconut stand!!!

Slubberdegullion · 02/07/2007 22:04

Ouch. Great programme. Will be watching again next week...it's making my fight not to join my RL village WI very difficult (I do not want to be the only woman in the history of the county to be involved in Toddlers Group & the WI...its an oxymoron).

FrannyandZooey · 02/07/2007 22:05

What are we doing this week?

Slubberdegullion · 02/07/2007 22:10

CRESS

Or maybe bread? I've never made bread with my hands before. I'm very very unlikely to win.

Or I don't mind being a judge. I can be very stern if required.

OP posts:
TigiCupCakes · 02/07/2007 22:11

I have to confess (in a very small voice) that i..i....i..... have actually been to one (just the one) Wi meeting... [runs away screaming emoticon]

Slubberdegullion · 02/07/2007 22:13

My friend asked me to go with her as a well known cake lady doing a presentation. I said 'okaaay' reluctantly. Dithered about going because I'd had stomach cramps, thought getting a bug.
Anyway went. I was easily half the age of the next youngest lady there. They did sing Jeruselem like the Stepford Wives. The cake presentation very good. came away witha good recipe. Came home, and had a bath.... two hours later my waters broke - ds born 4 weeks early - think Jeruselem set it off!
