Mumsnet Village Show - An Afternoon Tea Tray for One

So here we are again.

So far the rules are:

Tea tray for one

Can include anything you want suitable for a summer high tea (sandwiches, scones, cake, biscuits etc) with suitable cutlery and crockery and the like. (Silver service if you are terribly posh)

Five quid budget (on top of what you already have in your larder).

SlightlyMadScientist is the judge (heaven help us...is she properly qualified???)

Oh and all entries will be anonymous this time (A, B, C etc).

Time limit is 9pm next sunday so we can be judged before bed time.

The rules will obviously be bent or completely ignored but so long as its tea ish then anything goes.

Having spent an hour writing judges comments for MN I am off to spend 5 mins writing comments in DTDs reading diaries

My love of sweeties always gets me a ticking off in these competitions LOL

Who would have thought that

a) this all started with a thread where slubbers was asking advice on entering a VSC into a village show about 4 weeks ago
b) an afternoon tea competition could create this much LOLing!!!

just read through my notes from the judge. LOL at poncey sandwiches. Did y'all notice the CRESS???!!!

and a big LOLOLOL at cod's comment that my tea is too strong. just for the record. i drink baby tea, but i was trying to be grown up. that tea was poured down the sink!

congratulations to the winners! Wish I had had the chance to make some scones but had to finish the key lime cheesecake I made a few days before. Besides I erm don't actually own a tea pot! Do have an Espresso maker though Gaggia don't you know... so probably could of done a cream coffee
