Mumsnet Village Show - An Afternoon Tea Tray for One

So here we are again.

So far the rules are:

Tea tray for one

Can include anything you want suitable for a summer high tea (sandwiches, scones, cake, biscuits etc) with suitable cutlery and crockery and the like. (Silver service if you are terribly posh)

Five quid budget (on top of what you already have in your larder).

SlightlyMadScientist is the judge (heaven help us...is she properly qualified???)

Oh and all entries will be anonymous this time (A, B, C etc).

Time limit is 9pm next sunday so we can be judged before bed time.

The rules will obviously be bent or completely ignored but so long as its tea ish then anything goes.

Oh LL you'ree here, was just about to start a yoo hoo thread.

Thank you so much for the beautiful rosette and certificate for my DD's that came in the post this am. Thanks also for the prize...will come in very handy as it is dd2's birthday party coming up in a few weeks.

We've been busy as the fete all day today (must be a record, both children asleep within 2 mins of being put to bed), so I'm going to do a presentation (with their cup cake picies up on the 'puter tomorrow).

Many thanks again...you have skill with craft my dear!

Oh golly. It's got a bit heated in the marquee then LL?

Slubberdegullion · 30/06/2007 18:23

Oh the orange does clash horribly with the red rosette, will have to win another one tomorrow and put it inbetween so I don't get rosette headache

Tommorow @ 9pm 100x. You should tune in. It gets very tense and if last time is anything to go by ther will be a little skurmish in the tent and the judge will have to be whisked out by burley men.

OP posts:
Slubberdegullion · 30/06/2007 18:31

or is that burly?

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 30/06/2007 18:32

Oh brilliant. I'm coming to hang about in the back then. I might take notes for the local paper.

I know can we have an MN grotesque vegetable show? God I was SO excited about going to the real one after arsing around on here I can't tell you. I am completely pissed off we can't go.

Slubberdegullion · 30/06/2007 19:05

I wonder what vegetable has the greatest potential to turn out grotesque? We only have spuds (well and lettuce and rocket but they never do anything amusing). I'm praying that when I dig ours up we will have an amusing one to enter into our RL VS.
