And not Marmite cos that's too obvious
I don't get why people bother buying mild cheddar, it's such a false economy - nothing you make with it is going to taste of cheese.

packet batter mix!
i thought packet white sauce was bad but packet batte mix, takes the biscuit. imo, i am no delia smith but

filthymindedvixen · 19/03/2007 18:31

SOH - LOL, you 'sound' like Dylan Moran there . (And that's a good thing )

ChippyMinton · 19/03/2007 18:43

mussels - bleugh. They must be vile - otherwise why would they be served in such a strong-tasting wine, cream amd garlic sauce?

FrayedKnot · 19/03/2007 18:47

I love lettuce.
Well, I don;t love iceberg lettuce, and cos is so-so, but things like rocket and radiccio are yummy.

I don;t get winkles and cockles. Or oysters. Or snails. Eating slime through choice?

And that pudding that looks like frogspawn..is it tapioca?

Mercy · 19/03/2007 18:54

Beetroot in any form

Certain types of shellfish - cockles, winkles etc

Snails - who mentioned Heston? The very thought of snail porridge makes me retch

Goats cheese, unless it's very very mild and fresh. It honks.

I don't get your gripe re Korma though, Greensleeves.

milge · 19/03/2007 18:55

smoked salmon - horrid slimy texture
Goats cheese - smells too goaty, so I guess Curried goat is out, too
Sushi- why would you eat raw fish?

noddyholder · 19/03/2007 18:55

nothing to do with food but dylan moran-swoon!

wpcanniecartwright · 19/03/2007 18:56

beejesus

Mercy · 19/03/2007 18:57

Haha Frayedknot! I typed my post but had to deal with a toilet situation so didn't have time to post my message.

Glad we agree

allieBongo · 19/03/2007 18:57

cheese

taylormama · 19/03/2007 18:57

raisins - hard lumpy bits of stuff that look like rabbit poo. Have been known to spend aeons picking the buggers out of tea-cakes and alpen etc. I think there is a market for cinnamon and raisin bagels without the raisins!

foxinsocks · 19/03/2007 18:58

aah snail porrige that's it (said snail ice cream in my post but knew it was something like that!)

DimpledThighs · 19/03/2007 18:58

well there is a lot of variance in sperm from reading through this!

lulumama · 19/03/2007 18:58

taylormama.......you are a wimp !

i love raisins, cannot believe i am related to you !

heart and tongue and kidneys, don;t really do it for me !

Mercy · 19/03/2007 19:00

Oh god you just reminded me - anything cinammon flavoured (as opposed to using a tiny bit of fresh cinammon)

Lumps of orange/lemon peel in hot cross buns etc

The smell just penetrates.

PestoMonster · 19/03/2007 19:02

Liver - ugghh!

Rice pudding - Eeewwwhh!!

Blancmange - yukkk!!

taylormama · 19/03/2007 19:03

thanks lulu - that slap has definitely cured me of my raisin phobia

VeniVidiVickiQV · 19/03/2007 19:05

I am Greensleeves, and I can tell you are envious

Bucketsofdynomite · 19/03/2007 19:36

I don't believe oysters are aphrodisiacs, think that's more down to the special occasion extravagance feeling, washed down with plenty of alcohol usually. To get into most women's knickers it usually boils down to booze and shopping.

OP posts:
Greensleeves · 19/03/2007 21:34

I just don't understand how they can be an aphrodisiac. Swallowing a slimy lump of cold brackish snot doesn't set my loins afire, that's for sure

rosie76 · 19/03/2007 21:36

After watching masterchef, whats all this "foam stuff" on everything about, it looks like someones gobbed on your dinner.

TheArmadillo · 19/03/2007 21:38

mayonaise.

HOw anyone can eat it without being sick is beyond me.

expatinscotland · 19/03/2007 21:39

Cauliflower cheese.

I'd just as soon eat bat dung.

TheArmadillo · 19/03/2007 21:39

orange/lemon peel

pot noodle - had one once and was violently sick.

luckylady74 · 19/03/2007 21:48

i'm prepared for the freak comments here - i hate chocolate - the smell, the taste - yuk. i can't eat plain biscuits that have been in the same tin as choclate, i can't be downwind of hot chocolate - it's the cocoa cos i quite like a white dairy crunch.
I've known one other person in 32 years that was the same!and yes you can get fat without choclate - i find bread and cheese suffice and i do feel hard done by as most interesting icecream has it in!
