And not Marmite cos that's too obvious
I don't get why people bother buying mild cheddar, it's such a false economy - nothing you make with it is going to taste of cheese.

OP posts:
Lullabyloo · 19/03/2007 21:54

offal
blue cheese
swede
fish roes

PestoMonster · 19/03/2007 21:56

Oh, and walnuts (smell like sick )

MrsPhilipGlenister · 19/03/2007 21:58

Polenta. Really don't like it.

Surfermum · 19/03/2007 21:59

I'm another who doesn't get lettuce. Dreadful stuff - it's like munching on grass. I don't get cucumber or celery either. Yuk.

And mushrooms .

I once went camping with friends and we had a "I'm a Celebrity" theme to the weekend. We all had to do bushtucker trials. Mine was to eat a mushroom. I couldn't. I heaved, gagged and felt sick. Our friend's daughter had to eat a cream cake and she was much the same. Dsd had to run round the campsite in a dress .

MrsGumby · 19/03/2007 22:01

Licorice. How a slowly-roasted turd would taste.

VoodooChickenhead · 19/03/2007 22:02

scallops. Prawn testicles?

q7 · 19/03/2007 22:02

Popcorn - pointless tasteless cardboard.

berolina · 19/03/2007 22:04

mayonnaise

seafood
German sausage
Fried eggs (love boiled or scrambled, though, when not pg)
radishes
kebabs
cabbage - except red cabbage, which I love when cooked slowly with onion, apple and sultanas.

Rantum · 19/03/2007 22:04

raw oysters - ugh
tripe
eel

But then I really don't do any slimy food...

berolina · 19/03/2007 22:04

oh, and camembert/brie. Just don't get why so many people love it.
celery is pretty pointless too.

Lazycow · 19/03/2007 22:05

Soup
Tinned soup of any sort - ewwww
carton stuff is just about edible and fresh homemade is just a bit more edible but certainly never my food of choice.

Gravy (yes even nice home-made stuff)- yuk yuk yuk)

Beetroot in any form

oysters (almpost all other seafood cooked or raw is good - just not oysters)

Rantum · 19/03/2007 22:06

pickled chicken hearts (yes I was served this delicacy once, for breakfast, in another country and I had to eat the whole plateful to be polite.

Twinklemegan · 19/03/2007 22:06

Indian

VoodooChickenhead · 19/03/2007 22:09

also baby bel cheese - muck.
and dh eats biltong (he was born in SA, its like leather. Dirty leather.)
I have never understood fizzy water...now that is like alkaseltzer, awful.
I love a good tonic water...esp. with a little gin in, though

wpcanniecartwright · 19/03/2007 22:09

roast lamb, memories of cold congealed fatty lunch my stepmother would make

ShowOfHands · 19/03/2007 22:42

Dylan Moran... ooh... thought I was the only one...

Mouldy frickin cheese must be added to my list. No furry food thanks.

HappyDaddy · 19/03/2007 22:58

Mushrooms - why? They squeak when you bite them, taste of manky smoke and look burnt. What's the point?

Skribble · 19/03/2007 23:07

Melon and Cucumber- its just water.
Mushrooms- well its fungus FGS.
Mouldy cheese- I like Brie but not the fusty white bit around it.
Seafood- Anything other than a nice bit a white fish is just too fishy for me.
Fizzy plain water- yukk.

And Nuts, Parmesan and Celery are just bogging .

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 19/03/2007 23:30

ham in jelly. shudder.

PeachesMcLean · 19/03/2007 23:32

Celery here as well. It's evil and shouldn't be allowed.

PeachesMcLean · 19/03/2007 23:37

HappyDaddy, tell me more about mushrooms. DS complained recently about "the black bits" in the completely delicious casserole I'd made. I knew he wasn't keen on mushrooms but I thought I'd chopped them small enough to be ignored. But he still complained about them for being squashy. What's that about?

overthehill · 19/03/2007 23:37

Does no-one else hate rhubarb??? (Apologies to the MN member of that name!) It takes the enamel off your teeth & tastes revolting. Tofu's fine if it's properly marinaded (although my ds eats it raw!) & good for you as full of protein, calcium & no fat. Synthetic foods: Pot Noodles, cheese strings, anything with aspartamine in, those bright blue Slush Puppies.... at least rhubarb is a pretty colour... Squid (aka rubber bands), slimy seafood in shells, tinned pilchards (I remember having to crunch up all those bones
