Mmm granola! I made some at the weekend...

It's my birthday today, so I am treating myself to yummy food, still in an eat-betterer frame of mind.

So far I have had:
Overnight oats with chopped up cherries
Rice cake with almond butter and sliced banana
And planning potato cakes with smoked salmon on top for lunch
DH is in charge of dinner and I think he's getting swordfish or tuna steaks

Thanks Neeko! It was a big one last year, so I am enjoying having things a little more low-key...

Belated happy birthday, Bramshott! Hope you had a great day.

I'm feeling really positive about the whole rating thing atm. Am feeling a little bit slimmer after doing this No S thing for a little while. I'm trying not to really think about losing weight though, and am certainly not weighing myself. I'm kind of aiming for this to become habit, so that I can once and for all stop giving constant headspace to my weight and what I 'should' and 'shouldn't' be eating.

Lots of lovely picnic food over the weekend - currently enjoying a salad with lettuce, tomato, beetroot, broad beans and pine nuts at every opportunity!

Hello..... Im still eating better. Settled upon rice milk as my favourite and have completely got used to the taste of it now. I have cut out all grains, dairy, cheese etc, sugar (other than maple and honey) and just concentrate on the things I am eating. So lots of fruit, veg, meat and fish with small amounts of nuts and dark chocolate and medjool dates (love them). Mostly still cooking as normal but need to start exploring more recipes. Ive been doing this for just over a month now and although eating really healthy is my aim I also want to lose excess fat. Not much but just reached a lightbulb moment where I realised that what I eat creates my body each day. Anyway, have also lost half a stone as well as feeling energised so cant be bad.

Hello Eatbetterers! Anyone still around? Wondering how you're all doing.
I've hit a bit of a problem with the whole 'not dieting' thing - it looks like I probably have gallstones Sad. Which means a seriously low fat diet until they are officially diagnosed and I probably have my gall-bladder removed.

I'm desperately trying to think of tasty and filling low-fat meals, preferably ones I can add some fat to for the dc.

Having tended towards the full-fat and lowish carb for a few years, I'm seriously lacking in inspiration. And Christmas is going to be tricky...

Hello there! Does anyone want to restart this thread? I have read all three and got so much inspiration for eating better. I am sure that eating this way and nourishing body but not having any extremes is the way forward. If anyone is still around I would like to join! I’m currently trying to do more home made sweet treats and eat more fish and full fat foods rather than low fat. Baby steps, because the oven chips are still on rotation.
