I was forced to venture away from shop bought cakes for DS's last birthday as he insisted he wanted a tree fu tom cake...
I was pretty goddamn proud of it at the time, though its somewhat paling into insignificance next to these beauties!

(DS was chuffed to bits with it so really it's actually the best cake ever )

Love the lit-up turrets - fantastic idea!

I make gingerbread houses and put a birthday candle inside so that the light shines out of the windows. Unfortunately, the heat usually melts the chocolate button roof-tiles. Now I will use LED tea-lights! Thanks!

I look at those pictures and all I can see is how wobbly the towers were and how much of a PITA it was trying to flatten mini marshmallows to make roof tiles - I wouldn't do that bit again.

We have 3 birthday within 4 weeks so it's alwasy pretty hectic coming up with ideas and making them, here are this year's cakes.

And these are last years, plus a doc martin for my oldest son 18 months ago which is one of my favourites.

This thread is making me hungry! The banana and toffee loaf with peanut butter frosting sounds awesome and the cheesecakes look fantastic!!!! I'm trying to be sooooo 'good' on my diet at least until Weds weigh in!
