I love baking and my cakes taste amazing but I'm shite at decoration.

These 2 are my DD's 10th birthday cake (chocolate with choc frosting) and the rectangular cake was a trial run for DS's 1st birthday cake which will be a #1 shape and is in 2 weeks.

Chocolate bundt cake. It needed sprinkling with icing sugar for the snow but got eaten before I could do it!

Hi Badvoc, no not really I would say more a hobby for now as I work fulltime for the moment, I absolutely love making cakes, made 2 last week the minion and a wrinkly cake, I have 3 cakes to make next week and already getting stressed thinking about it.

I would dearly love my own business, I'm having some flyers printed out so hopefully I'll get more cakes to make, I do however have a Facebookpage if you want yo look at some of my cakes, its nanny cooks cakes.

Really easy, made with a template from the 'instructables' website. The spines are after eights, the claws are matchmakers and the wings are rice paper stuck to matchmakers!

Some very impressive cakes here.

I think the most unusual cake I have made is an Angry Birds cake for DS 9th birthday.

Jennywren, love this, my grandson is 5 in May and he wants an angry birds cake, but that can change I'm sure.

There are some really good cakes on here.

I have no artistic ability so my cakes are all planned to not involve any decorating where possible!

This one was for my parents' joint 60th birthday party.

Obviously I meant impressive cakes here on this thread, not here in my kitchen, that would really be boasting, wouldn't it?

My humble but tasty cakes. I can do a rose swirl for a cupcake but these pictures make me want to brave trying more elaborate cake decorating.

Yes, they did play with it. The birds were solid icing, so a bit sickly for eating. There was a big cake section in the middle and lots of chocolate wafers. I got the idea from here -

Omg dragon cake! I need to make a cake for my best friend next week... I predict a dragon cake - he lives dragons and is 38

DD's Cut The Rope birthday cake from last year. I had enormous fun modelling with sugarpaste, though I hate colouring the stuff (DD and DH then eat great lumps of it, which is gross on several levels).

This year's wasn't so pretty, but it was a recipe we invented between us, and I'm quite proud that we invented a cake that was actually rather nice.

Not the birthday cake, but the original loaf version of DD's and my toffee caramel fudge marble cake. And DH's birthday cake from last year, which was also not a looker, but did have an entire tin of Carnation caramel in the middle.
