I've made a couple recently that I want to show off to people... We could all go 'ooooh' at each other's efforts!

This is a strawberry cake I made for a local get-together recently

Marking place to look when not on the silly app. And upload photos of camera cake for DF.

Why is it always the ones for strangers that go wrong? I am doing a cake from a charity auction of promises, and am now going to be seriously short of time as I burned the stupid cake and will have to do it again in the morning .

(also trying to bake cakes for local show as well, which are also going wrong, of course...)

Sleep time. Tomorrow is another day and the chickens will be getting fat on rejected cake

Nanny I haven't even got to the fondant as stage on this one and it's already a nightmare. I am hoping for the weather to break as promised tomorrow!

Camera cake from a few weeks ago, and today's delivery - the nightmare roller disco cake.

Nanny your cage came out really well in the end. I want to go back to basics and learn to cover cakes flawlessly - I would save myself a lot of hassle in covering up flaws that way as well.

I've been told they look professional, but what do you class as professional? I dont have my own shop or anything, I do have a Facebook page though.

I want to learn to decorate cakes. What is a simple design to start.

PS all the cakes on here look amazing.

Missda - search YouTube videos for ones on covering a cake with fondant. It you can learn to do that really well, then almost anything you put on it will look good. Beyond that, if you can get a Debbie Brown cake book from the library, she does really good step by step instructions (just ignore her estimates of time taken - she clearly works very fast or I am very slow )

This weeks cakes.

Not really baking but cakes just the same. Here are the wedding cakes my dd1 made for her wedding at the end of August with her sister & fiance. They were one of all rice krispies decorated with smarties and one of coco pops and rice krispies decorated with melted chocolate & fresh strawberries. A cheap but delicious alternative.
