Not read thread but my 3 charges, one of whom is the fussiest eater in the wold...honestly...he hates chocolate!...would eat it every meal if they could!

pointydog · 23/11/2010 22:44

Kids I meet do not like marzipan as a general rule.

Half the adults I know do not like marzipan.

AitchTwoOh · 24/11/2010 09:33

i think, pointy, that all these FREAKS would beg to differ. Grin Wink

Love marzipan, DC, however, have no idea, as of yet, that such manna from heavens even existsGrin

piprabbit · 24/11/2010 10:16

Amaretto - yum.
With coffee - double yum.

DD had her 7th birthday yesterday - one of her best presents was a box of chocolate covered marzipans.

pointydog · 24/11/2010 10:28

It's a class thing.

That's always the answer on mn.

AitchTwoOh · 24/11/2010 10:29

Ok, so if your kids like marzipan:

  • you are posh
  • LEAVE IT, IT'S A BASTARD
Unprune · 24/11/2010 10:36

OH MY GOD
How can you not like marzipan? It is the food of the gods.

I discovered a couple of weeks ago that lumps of marzipan ripped off a block and dipped in Nutella is not desperate and premenstrual at ALL, it is NIRVANA

AitchTwoOh · 24/11/2010 10:36

and

FIN

lovely work everyone, see you all here next week!

I have always disliked marzipan. I just cannot eat it but my dd does like it so you might enjoy a marzipan party type of thing.

Another thing I could never acquire a taste for is liquorice.

ZZZenAgain · 24/11/2010 10:38

marzipan in nutella

faint

Liquorice is revolting in a "I'm going to keep on eating it until my tongue turns black and I have a headache and feel sick" kind of way.

AitchTwoOh · 24/11/2010 10:41

i like strawberry laces. [prole]

Unprune · 24/11/2010 10:42

We used to swallow strawberry laces whole, holding onto the end, and pull them back up.

SylvanianFamily · 24/11/2010 10:43

Oooh, mine had the best time making marzipan animals the other day.

i can't vouch that any was eaten - and the animals all reduced to those universal constants: worms and aliens - but It's something I'd repeat.

gorionine · 24/11/2010 10:44

My children love marzipan. My mum just sent them beautiful Flintstone figures in marzipan. DD4 looked at hers said "Oh it is so cute!" and then it disapeared into her mouth never to be seen agan.Smile

AbsofCroissant · 24/11/2010 10:56

marzipan is disgusting as is liqourice. Liqourice is made from dried dog's blood - FACT

PrettyCandles · 24/11/2010 11:06

Unprune, you are evil! You know what I'm going to gave to do now, don't you? Yes, I'm going to have to buy a jar of Nutella - and I can't keep a whole jar in the house because it very soon becomes an empty jar.

:P

PrettyCandles · 24/11/2010 11:12

BTW you are freaky. Not so much for unswallowing strawberry laces - just confirms that children can be disgusting - but for eating them at all!

Strawberry laces are not licorice.

Real licorice OTOH is not only deeeeeelicious, it also eases motion sickness and morning sickness (but should only be eaten in very small quantitis while pregnant). And gives you entertainingly black teeth.

AitchTwoOh · 24/11/2010 11:14

tru dat. they're not liquorice. in fact i suspect they're just cow's hooves and food colouring, but i like them.
