I am just watching Mary Poppins for the umpteenth time. Have always thought that Sister Suffragette is the cleverest and funniest and most brilliant song ever.
What are your favourites?

Sunrise, Sunset - Fiddler on the Roof.

My choice too 👍

Difficult though, because I love all the songs from Fiddler on the Roof, so it's quite hard to choose. They tell the story of Jewish family life and tradition so beautifully.

I also love Summer Nights sung by Neil Diamond from The Jazz Singer. and Acapulco - it always makes me feel happy.

RenoDakota · 26/12/2022 16:42

Oh thank you all. This has reminded me of other favourites. Especially:
There Are Worse Things I Could Do from Grease.
Edelweiss from The Sound of Music.
Take That Look Off Your Face from Tell Me On A Sunday.

Helpless or Satisfied from Hamilton.

I would looove to see Hamilton - it's on my to do list for 2023.

I put forward...pretty much all of the songs in Hamilton.
They are all so multi-layered and incredibly clever as well as just being good tunes.

Ice Queen - do it!!!! It's incredible

Oops sorry, didn’t intend to post twice, some sort of glitch with posting there

Icequeen01 · 26/12/2022 16:56

@theluckiest I have to be honest, I didn't realise you could still see it in London until I checked after commenting on this thread. I'm going to pin my DH down on some dates and get it booked asap. I came across the music by chance when playing Spotify in my car one day and I have been playing it ever since. I can't get enough of it.

We are off to see Six in February which seems to have good reviews. Looking forward to that too.

trulyunruly01 · 26/12/2022 17:02

'Have yourself a merry little Xmas', Judy Garland in Meet Me in St Louis.

Someone Else's Story from Chess

The First half finale from West Side Story, where all the characters are singing about their own vision of that night. Wonderful. Just wonderful.

Fabvegetablegrower · 26/12/2022 17:16

My favourite is As long as he needs me from Oliver. There are so many fab songs from musicals to choose from.

UncleHerbie · 26/12/2022 17:22

“If I loved you” from Carousel. Even thinking about it makes me want to blub

jay55 · 26/12/2022 17:43

I'll cover you from Rent
One night only dreamgirls
Beautiful Briney sea Bedknobs and broomsticks

Totally agree on Sister suffragettes, I was gutted it wasn't in the stage version.
