Not sure what they are called but films that describe an actual historical event or person. Like the titanic, the impossible, flight 93, 127 hours.

Although they make me weep buckets I find them so interesting.

What are your best based-on-real-life films please??

Pierrepoint.
Any film with Timothy Spall has to be good. I grew up hearing stories about Pierrepoint as my Granddad was friends with him. When I see the pub scenes I like to imagine that one of the drinkers there is my granddad.

Hotel Mumbai is excellent. My heart was in my mouth the whole film.

And also one on Netflix with Chris Evans, called The Red Sea Diving Resort. It's about helping Jewish Ethiopians to escape genocide.
