Sadly I have to agree with PPs about Julie Dench - I really want to love her acting as she seems lovely (I know not a great reason)

And if you think she’s bad then I give you the luvvy of all luvvies Kenneth Branagh. Jesus Christ he’s just so over the top and every role is just Kenneth Branagh being Kenneth Branagh. For direct comparison his version of Oswald Alving in Henrik Ibsen’s Ghosts (its on YouTube) versus Jack Lowden’s version from the National Theatre production - I’ll let you guess whose performance left me nearly in tears and whose left me wanting to slap them.

Julie?! I meant Judi

Colin 'permanently baffled expression' Farrell in pretty much everything he's been in.

Roomba · 25/08/2018 19:21

Tommy Wiseau in The Room. So bad it's hilarious.

James Franco playing Tommy Wiseau in The Disaster Artist wasn't much better either. He loves himself so much that I can't ever forget who he is and believe in his characters (the less said about his 'poetry' the better, too).

Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman in The Killing of a Sacred Deer really freaked me out. I know the wooden, deadpan speech was intentional, but it was very odd indeed.

Titsywoo · 25/08/2018 19:25

Channing Tatum and the girl in Magic Mike (the first one). Cringeworthy woodenness.

PlatypusPie · 25/08/2018 19:31

Keanu Reeves in A walk in the Clouds. Oh my :/

Maliali · 25/08/2018 19:40

George clooney - when he attempts any emotion other than happy or angry he is like a wooden block.

The kid actors in Harry Potter and also Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson as they are as adult actors.

Hugh Laurie in House - that American accent is dire.
Ewan mcgregor
Jennifer Anniston
Johnny depp
Jennifer Lopez
Andie McDowell
Hugh Grant
Richard E Grant
Pierce Brosnan
Stephen Fry
And yes for me all the above totally ruin every film they’re in

Jonathan rhys Meyers in The Tudors past the first series. he was woefully miscast anyway, but then started shouting in a put on gruff voice to show enger or authority.

He did exactly the same in whatever that Dracula programme he made was called.

I'm sure I have others, but that was the first that sprung to my mind .

twinkl3 · 30/08/2018 17:38

Absolutely anything with ryan Reynolds..cant stand him! X

Aridane · 16/09/2018 21:02

I liked Keira Knightley in Bend it Like Beckham and The Hole - otherwise agree with other posters

headinhands · 17/09/2018 14:19

Helen mirren in Prime Suspect. Awful. Just awful.

GunpowderGelatine · 21/09/2018 22:34

Anything with Julia Walters. Sorry, she seems lovely, but she plays the same character in every movie. She basically plays herself in everything

GunpowderGelatine · 21/09/2018 22:34

Oh and Geri Halliwell in her SATC cameo. "Samaaaarntha Jooooooones!"

LassWiADelicateAir · 23/09/2018 00:06

Have you seen her in Personal Shopper or The Clouds of Sils Maria?

They are more or less the same film and she is terrible in both.

Vin Diesel. I know his films aren't meant to be taken seriously but his 'acting' is jaw dropping. I'm surprised he doesn't have termites

To be fair he was excellent as a tree in Guardians of the Galaxy
