For me it's always the Twilight Saga. Then full on snot filled tissues when Edward's piece of music (Bella's Theme?) that he wrote for Bella.

I read the books before watching the films, and they too made me weep.

I know... I'm a sentimental nitwit.

The Bridges of Madison County - particularly the bit where she is in the car behind him at the traffic lights and her hand is on the door.

E.T - seen it so many times and always bawl at the end.

Atonement, The Notebook, The Way We Were, The English Patient, and Sense and Sensibility "Willoughby...!"

dalecooper · 17/11/2017 09:41

And Who Will Love My Children! Oh my God that film!

SpiritedLondon · 17/11/2017 09:53

Yep pretty sure I can't watch " Who will love my children" - for me though it's Bridges of Madison County .... my DH looked at me in complete astonishment because I don't cry at films that often.

DilysMoon · 17/11/2017 09:57

Les Miserables, Beaches.

ExileinGuyville · 17/11/2017 10:05

Two films had me and my best friend howling into our scarves (tissues not enough...) while the rest of the cinema audience got up and ambled out at the end - Pieces of April with Katie Holmes, about a young woman who has her dysfunctional family including her dying mother over for Thanksgiving dinner, and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, a French film about a man paralyzed after a stroke, with only the use of his left eye.

freddiemercury · 17/11/2017 13:08

kazlau · 17/11/2017 14:05

Meet Joe Black. Green Mile. Beaches.
Snotty mess every time.

dalecooper · 17/11/2017 14:07

Brooklyn really made me cry too. It was beautiful but sad.

Raisedbyguineapigs · 17/11/2017 14:11

I'm not really a film crier, but my DS2 cried when the main dog died in 'a dogs purpose'. He said "I'm not crying, water keeps falling out of my eyes!' I realized he'd never cried out of sadness before, just the usual childrens tantrums with the accompanying screaming and rolling around the floor!

Armck79 · 17/11/2017 18:46

Can't believe no one has said, love story. Also gone with the wind, everytime.

lovemylover · 17/11/2017 18:52

Philomena, so sad, and true, was telling someone about it yesterday and tears rolling down my face, have read her story, and the sons story, both very sad
Also the Green mile

purdy1234 · 17/11/2017 19:12

King Kong,
when he falls off the Chrysler Building,
A I,
when the artificial boy's adoptive mom gives him up,
E T,
when he says goodbye to the boy and goes home.
Shane,
when he rode off into the sunset and the little boy kept calling his name.

purdy1234 · 17/11/2017 19:20

I must add Now Voyager to my previous list. All my choices seems to be ancient but they are by the time they're put on TV

Heartbroken47 · 17/11/2017 19:21

Definitely Maybe
I sobbed and sobbed from about half way through

faceremovinghairscream · 17/11/2017 19:24

Edward Scissorhands. Even the music in the opening scenes has me weeping.

Highmaintenancefemalestuff · 17/11/2017 19:27

The notebook
The fault in our stars
Me before you
p.s I love you
Fast and furious 7

MaitreKarlsson · 17/11/2017 21:17

This is a great thread. All mine have been mentioned already but Million Dollar Baby stands out because it was such a shock. Didn't expect that at all.
And the Deer Hunter, Kramer vs Kramer, Schindlers List.. etc...

honeyharris · 17/11/2017 21:32

Million dollar baby. Proper snotty sobbing in front of a guy I'd not been seeing for long.

JanKind · 18/11/2017 03:35

Out of Africa just the theme can start me off
Green Mile
Little Women
Indecent Propsal - we both cried at the end
Boy in the Striped pyjamas
Lion King

Yamyam27 · 18/11/2017 05:26

Paulie 😪

Starskit · 18/11/2017 05:42

My Girl - the bees 😓

teabagfreak · 18/11/2017 05:47

The Notebook.

I genuinely sob so loud watching this, no matter how many times I’ve seen it.

MissBax · 18/11/2017 05:50

A film called Hachi (it's sooo good!) has me inconsolable every time.
