For me it's always the Twilight Saga. Then full on snot filled tissues when Edward's piece of music (Bella's Theme?) that he wrote for Bella.

I read the books before watching the films, and they too made me weep.

I know... I'm a sentimental nitwit.

All of the above, anything with a dog.

Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 18/11/2017 18:27

Raised, you're not the only one!

The most embarrassing was the new Beauty and the Beast. I think I must have had PMT. Evermore set me off, and I was on the edge of tears for most of the film after that. And then I properly sobbed at the end, because they were all so happy and the music was so lovely (I am always a sucker for a good crescendo, but this was ridiculous!). The friend next to me was quite worried - he kept passing me tissues and giving my arm a little pat! He didn't learn, he went with me to Miss Saigon not that long after Grin

Wierdly a scene in Sing because it is a song from my dad's funeral "My Way"

Raisedbyguineapigs · 18/11/2017 19:53

My DS was next to me when they put the lights up. He turned to me to say it was the best film he'd ever seen and I had to turn my face away Blush There were some teenagers next to me who were giggling because they were all in tears too!

haveacupoftea · 19/11/2017 00:59

Oh the theory of everything when Stephen hawking finds out he has that disease Sad

Hunstanton · 19/11/2017 09:31

Sophie’s Choice - heartbreaking scene at the station where the Nazis make her choose which child to let go/keep

Ghost - watched and rewatched as a teen and blubbed endlessly each and every time

Up - miscarriage scene is genuinely powerful and upsetting (for an animation)

Hunstanton · 19/11/2017 09:33

Oh and The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is heartbreaking

And totally agree with Seabiscuit. Completely took me by surprise watching some years ago whilst pregnant.

Pensionista · 01/12/2017 10:04

You before Me, through it and at the end.
There's a new one coming out called STRONGER, also there's a book, only saw a bit on TV this morning and blubbed. God knows what the film will do to me.
Sophies Choice, The Boy in the striped Pyjamas, anything to do with kids.
My DH cried at ET.

Pensionista · 01/12/2017 10:32

Just thought of more,
A I when his Mum abandons him, ..couldn't bear it. I would have had him. He loves her so much he searches forever to find her. The ending had me in bits.
The Deer Hunter, traumatising.
It's a Wonderful Life. Great Christmas film.
Scrooge, when he realise's what he lost but his Nephew still forgives and accepts him. But only the original version with Alister Sim.
Nicolas and Alexandra, when they herd the family into a room and shoot all of them. I saw this more than 30 years ago and it has stuck in my mind since. I was in a cinema with my friend and her Mum. At the end I was holding everything in and the lights went up, my friend said, "coming for some fish and chips ?" I gulped "No thanks, gotta go " I ran to my car and balled my eyes out. It's the only time I said no to fish and chips.

Liliywil · 08/12/2017 17:56

Only film I've cried for is Titanic.

LondonLassInTheCountry · 08/12/2017 17:59

The Impossible - ugly crying at the trailer when we went to the cinema to see something else - DH sent me outside Blush
Sophie's Choice - watched when pg with DC2. No idea why I did that. I can't even speak the name of the film.
I cannot even contemplate watching The Boy in the Stripped Pyjamas.

FaultySpice · 08/12/2017 19:09

A monster calls. Really heartbreaking performance from the young lead actor. Cried solidly for the second half of the film!
