For me it's always the Twilight Saga. Then full on snot filled tissues when Edward's piece of music (Bella's Theme?) that he wrote for Bella.

I read the books before watching the films, and they too made me weep.

I know... I'm a sentimental nitwit.

Wild. Reese Witherspoon is amazing and the raw grief resonates big time.

SapphireStrange · 20/12/2016 18:08

gluteus, that's not embarrassing. The opening montage in Up is so emotional and beeeyutiful.

I cried at Frozen, when she first escapes home and creates the winter wonderland landscape. Mainly because it was gorgeous, but also partly because I was in a cinema full of kids and one of them gasped 'Oh wow!'.

Greenteandchives · 20/12/2016 18:09

Anything with animals. Especially The Incredible Journey. Sad

InCaseWeNeverMeetAgain · 20/12/2016 18:12

Oh, the incredible journey Sad And Homeward Bound is nearly as bad.

I've never seen Up. Is it not a good idea? (for someone who 'doesn't cry at films' buy totally does?)

WowserBowser · 20/12/2016 18:16

WarwickDavisAsPlates · 20/12/2016 18:19

The closest I've ever seen DH to crying (in the 20 years I've known him) was when we watched Up.

He's also just reminded me I cried at Brokeback Mountain and Almost Famous.

af200, I remember that one. So sad. I felt his widow had comfort living in the house he designed.
It reminded me of The Restoration Man, when the couple had bought a windmill on his father's farm, with money from insurance because the wife had had breast cancer. She ended up with terminal cancer. When the husband told George that she was terminal and they hugged and cried. I cried. I cried seeing how ill she was yet how determined to see her windmill. I'm choked up now just thinking of it.

MeganChips · 20/12/2016 19:42

I watched a film last week which made me actually sob.

Me, Earl and the dying girl.

I suppose the clue was in the title.

InCaseWeNeverMeetAgain · 20/12/2016 20:35

I most recently had a little tear at Finding Dory in the cinema. When she finds the shells that her parents laid out for her so she could find them :'-o Blush

CathysGhost · 20/12/2016 20:38

I cried at the Film Nativity this week. The bit where the lights went out and the kids had to hold a candle. Caught me right by surprise it did, I never cry. I did a big sob and the kids looked at me like 😕

Autumnchill · 20/12/2016 20:43

The Green Mile and recently Dream Girls when Jennifer Hudson is singing, it's so raw

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 20/12/2016 20:52

God so many have been mentioned. I cry at most Pixar films. The bit in toy story 3 where they all join hands is heartbreaking.

In the name of the father is heartbreaking. The burning paper scene has me in proper loud sobs.

Me and dp went to see American sniper at the cinema and we didn't know it was based in a real man until the end bit with the real footage of his funeral. I quickly stood up and got all my stuff together to stop myself from crying. Looked over and dp had proper fat tears rolling down his face.

I cry at the drop of a hat though.

RubbishMantra · 20/12/2016 22:08

The Lovely Bones, forgot about that one. I wept whilst reading the book, and even more so watching the film.

I was equally taken aback by Saorise Ronans' portrayal of Melanie in "The Host". It made me imagine - what if you could have a loved one with you, but wasn't actually them. Would you take that option? Would it be better than nothing?

Also, not a film, but one of Charlie Brookers' Black Mirror series, "Be Right Back". Having a loved one return to you, via technology, but without their faults? So therefore not themselves. But again, would it be better than nothing?
