I got an absolute bargain last week at a bring and buy sale. A still wrapped box set of Dvds of RH, To Catch A Thief and A Place In The Sun for £1!!
I havent seen RH before and am really enjoying it. I watched High Society this afternoon. I love the grace and style (excuse the pun!) of TCAT!! Smile

Rear Window. Dad and I watched it one sunday afternoon years ago when we were both ill with something viral. Its a fond memory for me and I always look out for it on telly now.

They did make a remake of an Affair to Remember. It was called Love Affair with Warren Beatty and Annette Bening.

It was complete rubbish!!!

Remember watching "Seven Brides..." as a little girl and thinking the brothers were so cute and funny, why did she not want to live with them all forever! Grin

Birdsgottafly · 25/04/2015 21:25

I love most of the films already mentioned.

My user name is the second line of one of the songs out of a personal favourite, Showboat.

Night of the Hunter, Shelley winters and Robert Mitcham. Genuinely chilling and I always well up at the last line, 'children, they endure' when those children had been through so much and finally Lillian gish believes them.

I'm partial to a bit of Film Noir.

Night of The Hunter - in my Top 5 of all time.
Maltese Falcon, Third Man, Sunset Boulevard and Double Indemnity, tend to be watched on rainy days, ideally with some dark chocolate and the curtains shut.

WoweeZowee · 25/04/2015 21:45

Oh I love Roman Holiday! Such a charmingly romantic and fun story... I think its ending makes it even better.

Other faves include Singing in the Rain, Harvey and Night of the Hunter.

emotionsecho · 25/04/2015 21:50

It's a Wonderful Life
Hobson's Choice
The Family Way
Ryan's Daughter

Musical: West Side Story (I feel pretty, oh so pretty sung by the glorious Natalie Wood)

emotionsecho · 25/04/2015 21:51

Oh yes Night of the Hunter is truly chilling.
