What an odious, misogynist he truly is.

GB News suspends Laurence Fox over comments about journalist Ava Evans - BBC News

He said, of female journalist Ava Evans: "Show me a single self-respecting man that would like to climb into bed with that woman - ever, ever. That little woman has been fed, spoon-fed oppression day after day after day. And she's sat there and I'm going like, 'If I met you in a bar and that was like sentence three, [the] chances of me just walking away are just huge." He then added: "Who'd want to shag that?"

That Little Woman??? Why is he reducing her value to whether or not he would have sex with her - firstly what the fuck has that got to do with her worthiness as a human being or indeed her job as a journalist. Secondly, why is he arrogantly assuming that she WANT to shag him anyway, I've no doubt she wouldn't touch that loathsome prick with a shitty stick.

He also goes on to say ""We need powerful strong, amazing women who make great points for themselves." Sorry, what?? A woman made a point you didn't agree with and the first thing you did was mock, degrade and dehumanise her. Stop back-peddling, it's too late - we see you, you sexist prick.

Fox is odious, but my main issue is that there is a broadcaster who is willing to air these rancid comments and thinks there's no problem with giving a voice to Fox, character or not.

Apparently Dan Wootton had a voice in his earpiece telling him to stop Fox and apologise immediately. There was allegedly also an autocue apology Wootton was supposed to read but he refused to.

Yes exactly. They are both twats. But Wooten tried to save his own arse by lying. Glad he was caught out. Especially if he refused to stop what Fox was saying, against instructions. However, isn't there a broadcast delay? Couldn't they have just taken them off air?

Jesus. Triggernometry are doing a live interview with Fox this evening. They obviously couldn't get him on quick enough 🙄 I do have my issues with the Triggernometry pair, but they have done some very interesting interviews and I often watch their content. I'm pretty disgusted at them giving this barrel-scraper air time at all, but especially after his carry on this week

It's such a shame he is such a massive twat and said that. Because I really think what she said about male suicide was bloody problematic and this has taken away from the fact it isn't okay to brush aside the fact that the biggest killer of men under 50 is suicide.

Oh come on OP, you know why.

Because, unfortunately, that is what a lot these types do when women are out of earshot. They discuss how fuckable they think they are because that is the main prism they see women through - a sexual lens. It's all that goes round in their heads. Everything else is secondary. Some are polite enough to keep this sort of stuff inside their heads most of the time, but if they feel relaxed and are in similar company, it comes out.

He's just done it on air, making it brazen and out in the open.

This behaviour gets worse with men who think they are out of their desired woman's league. They just get nastier because they know they don't have a chance.

I think it's due to some kind of loyalty, and they know the ratings for it would be good. It also wouldn't surprise me if Laurance's talk isn't at all unusual, is openly tolerated, and the pair would feel a bit bad for excluding him as a guest on that basis.

He's even more questionable in my view with what he's been accused of doing recently. On camera I've found Dan to come across as incredibly fake, like dripping with faux empathy.

Whenever right wing men say things like that, it usually means 'strong women who AGREE WITH EVERY SINGLE THING I SAY'.

Yes I think you're right on both counts. I sat through the first ten minutes of it and Konstantin did say that there had been some debate among their production team about whether having LF on was the right thing to do, but that KK and FF were all for it so there we are 🙄 they both told him that his comments were idiotic but that the outcry about them had been way over the top. FF asked LF if he had been pissed when he appeared on GB News. LF said he had had a glass of wine with dinner but no more

LF said he accepted that he was out of order but denied it was anything to do with misogyny and then started to weasel out of having said 'who would shag that?'. Then KK challenged him on being a Christian ( 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️) and LF started whinging about 'let he who is without sin cast the first stone'. At this point I gave myself a good shake and switched the thing off and did something more productive with my time

Sorry, I know no one asked for that rotten little summary but I guess I felt the need for a debrief or something 😁
