*pissed off as I've realised my cat can open the fridgeConfused. A couple of days ago, I caught him inside the fridge and thought to myself "oh maybe I didn't close it properly" nope. Woke up today and he's eaten some chicken slices out of the fridge. My lunch. Off to buy some fridge locks when I've picked up my DD. Grin

God this is one clever cat!! Mine can't open a fridge!

Well done on getting through today. Just take it day by day. And I have a little ledge by the fridge so I assume he's standing on the ledge and pushing the door until it opensConfused

It doesn't really matter anymore anyway.
I don't really care anymore

But you do. And you can. Fight for yourself.

Mother87 · 13/01/2023 08:02

Morning @purpleme12 - how you doing? Well, I had morphine-induced sleep (shoulder op on Tuesday) & didn't realise it was possible to sleep sitting up for a few hours😬... House is like a skip - but will tackle bits slowly with one useable arm, no rush.
Chucked the😻😻off the bed last night as they were walking all over me & wouldn't settle
You got anything in particular you're doing today or trying to do? Or you need more rest?💜

I got through today so that's something

Hi purpleme12. Really glad you got through the day. I know how challenging it can be. What's your day looking like?

purpleme12 · 13/01/2023 21:52

I started the shop (online) but haven't managed to finish it...
I did manage to go to soft play with a school mum and our children. That was really good cos I actually got to speak to another adult outside of work properly.

My child's behaviour hasn't been easy so I'm just exhausted again from the effort to be honest

I'll get there - all a bit sore for now🤦🏻‍♀️
How's your day been? Will you get a chance to do something "different" over the weekend?

Candymay · 13/01/2023 21:59

I’ve only just seen this thread op. I’m happy to talk to you too.
I am a single parent. I also have an adorable cat.
ive had many periods of my life feeling very alone and depressed. Life is tough! But things do always get better.

Battlecat98 · 13/01/2023 21:59

Hi purpleme2 keep going you are doing all the right things. You need to look after yourself in order to look after your dd. I went back to bed today as I had the worst sleep, also had cat company.

Mother87 · 13/01/2023 22:12

Cats should be given out by the NHS really😻

purpleme12 · 14/01/2023 02:28

She wanted to go to see her dad this weekend but he's poorly again. He's often poorly.

I get 2 hours to myself tomorrow while she's at a group does it sound really bad that I look forward to that at the minute

How are you doing?

Mother87 · 14/01/2023 07:31

Morning... nope it definitely doesn't sound anything like "bad" looking forward to a couple of hours of free time to do whatever you want @purpleme12 - if that involves doing nothing/gazing into the distance with a purry😻& a cuppa... Do whatever you need to recharge a little bit...

Mother87 · 14/01/2023 07:33

This morning was ok, quite good in fact. She played by herself which lovely. Cos she has real trouble doing that

Then it went downhill. Kicked off at going out even though she had good time out. So had to deal with much protesting and noise, some violence, refusal before managing to get her out. Then after the group more anger. Much unhappiness. She did pour a few things out to me finally on way back home about her worries, some of which in knew. But it all comes out as anger you see and explosions.
Fixated that I wouldn't buy her some fruit when we were out even though I'd bought her 2 pizza slices that she chose.
I'll be having a word with school on Monday to get a teacher to talk to her about her worries as I believe it's all building up inside her now.
Times today where I just couldn't cope.
Now I'm just exhausted. Again. I just don't have the energy

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 14/01/2023 20:05

I just don't know what to do with her half the time

OP posts:

Lindtcat · 14/01/2023 20:45

Even though her worries didn't come out in the best way, it's good that they did. She may have a lot on her mind that's causing her to behave like this. Speak to the school and Monday and might be also worth speaking to your GP, they also may be able to offer support. You're doing your best so don't be too hard on yourself. When she's in bed, just try to relax and watch some tv with some nice food. Be kind to yourself Flowers

Mother87 · 14/01/2023 23:30

Hope you're having some downtime this evening & 'good' that your daughter opened up to you a bit - still tough I know, but better than keeping it all in. I hope school are helpful on Monday...💜

purpleme12 · 14/01/2023 23:38
