Currently in the grips of a panic attack and need talking down. Is anyone out there? Full of self loathing and have tried taking a few different tablets to calm me down and now nothing has worked panicking about the tablets. Is anyone able to hold my hand and help me calm down? Sorry to ask x

Here darling, deep breaths in and out.

You are going to be ok

oh4forkssake · 10/10/2018 22:12

Here I am.

Take a breath. Whatever it is isn’t as bad as you think it is. I promise it isn’t.

What’s the focus of your panic?

mscockles · 10/10/2018 22:13

Also here. You are here and you are fine xxxxx

ItsABeatifulDayNow · 10/10/2018 22:13

Oh my goodness so relieved some lovely people are there THANK YOU. I feel utterly overwhelmed and now that I'm panicking and have probably taken too many tablets I'm feeling worse. I desperately want to sleep but feel totally wired :(

Nice cup of tea?

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 10/10/2018 22:13

Also here....do you have a paper bag to hand? If you do, breathe into it, and out...slowly but surely...

Luvly12 · 10/10/2018 22:14

I've got you. You're going to be ok.

MrsMozart · 10/10/2018 22:14

A handhold from me lass.

Slow deep breaths.

ipswichmum · 10/10/2018 22:15

What tablets did you take and how many? ❤️

ItsABeatifulDayNow · 10/10/2018 22:15

Will try tea and also paper bag thank you for being with me. Feel ever so alone and is easy to feel like giving up when that's the case. I desperately want it to be morning so I can start again. Sorry for being rubbish

What tablets have you took love?

ItsABeatifulDayNow · 10/10/2018 22:16

God you're all so lovely. I've had about 4-5 one a night herbal nytol and some 5HTP.

Getting to grips with recent epilepsy diagnosis and scared of a seizure now

New diagnoses are scary. But they are slightly less scary than not knowing. Are there any clinics at your gp surgery or health centre? Or try looking for local support groups. You're not alone in any of this.

Luvly12 · 10/10/2018 22:20

I think you'll be ok with regards the tablets

Everybodylovesablankie · 10/10/2018 22:21

I’m here too ❤️ Sounds silly but try singing or humming a song, doesn’t matter what song but it really helps you to regulate your breathing. It will pass, promise x

ItsABeatifulDayNow · 10/10/2018 22:22

Thank you for all being so nice. I've been doing so well and being brave but just gone to bits this evening. Is all from a big car crash and the after effects have changed my whole life really. So hard to keep going sometimes isn't it? I'm sorry to be so negative thank you for talking to me I think it's helping

RLOU30 · 10/10/2018 22:24

Hi OP my love I’m here too. I’m having one too and am on 5HTP how do they work for you? I wouldn’t worry about the herbal nytol at all but don’t take any more. I find naming things around me In the room helps my panic attacks. I don’t know why it just seems to reassure me that I am here and all is okay. You will be fine! Xx

ItsABeatifulDayNow · 10/10/2018 22:25

I will try that too thank you so much for being there when I feel alone I can't tell you how much I appreciate it and how much it helps. I feel like a tiny little failure in this huge world sometimes and struggle to see a way out of it even though intellectually I feel proud of what I've accomplished. It's so confusing nights like this

5htp wasn't great for for me but I struggled on for another few years and then was prescribed citlapram..... game changer. Definately has helped

oh4forkssake · 10/10/2018 22:26

You will find a way to live with your new normal.

But this is scary and no wonder you’re having a panic attack. How about putting some nice music on and lying in the dark. Just let it wash over you. Don’t pace - that makes it worse somehow

ItsABeatifulDayNow · 10/10/2018 22:26

Desperately trying not to go into self destruct mode and you are helping me - any advice is so welcome or just company on here while I try to calm down

OP posts:
Luvly12 · 10/10/2018 22:27

I agree ... Let it wash over you. It WILL pass

ItsABeatifulDayNow · 10/10/2018 22:27

I've had a tough time from day dot and I think I'm not sure how to cope with a problem I can't graft my way out of. I can't make it better and my brain is changed forever. It feels so unfair x
