I had a friend with a missing lateral incisor; she had her canine modified and brought round to look like an incisor.

Amazing how many of us are plus/minus some bits. I once had to argue for a tendon reconstruction in my wrist as apparently it was an extra tendon I didn't need Hmm the SHO who evaluated the injury has decided I didn't have tendon involvement as I still had full range of motion, ignoring the tendon stub poking in and out of my wrist when I moved my hand Grin The consultant have him and me an entertaining lesson on extra tendons. Apparently most people have one.

My teeth need so much work due to the years of purging, I have proper bulimic teeth, but thankfully I live in an area where lots of children have all their milk teeth removed, so it's not noticeable.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palmaris_longus_muscle Only 14% of people are missing it apparently

I'm hypermobile, not sure if that is due to extra tendons or anything though it just weirdness in my joints.

Ennn · 08/02/2015 18:35

I saw a lovely thing once in a documentary with a woman who had complete reconstruction of her badly-eroded teeth and she cried with the happiness at how well they worked and how normal they looked and how much less painful they were.

My mum is hypermobile but I only have the crappy skin and clicky joints.

I don't have any bits missing, except for half my brain

why are the nazgul so histrionic? They are always doing high pitched shrieks every time something doesn't quite go their way Hmm

Ennn · 08/02/2015 18:36

Oh and I think the myopia is related.

It's a catch 22 - do I get teeth sorted and then hope that'll make me stop purging or do I stop purging and then get teeth done?

One of the housemates is about to have hers straightened as she is moving to America and doesn't want British looking teeth.

HellinaHandbasket · 08/02/2015 18:58

I had two implants done this year. Not an experience I'd like to repeat but it's so nice to have gotten rid of the two painful rogue teeth.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 08/02/2015 19:00

I haven't been to the dentist for about five years. Last time I had anxiety tracks and ended up fainting- v v embarrassing and it put me off going again.

HellinaHandbasket · 08/02/2015 19:05

I can see why that would put you off going alright. Do you think you'll be able to pluck up the courage to go again?

CaulkheadUpNorth · 08/02/2015 19:06

If anyone else Is feeling left out please also tell me the size of your calves I will ignore it though

UpOnDown · 08/02/2015 19:06

HellinaHandbasket · 08/02/2015 19:09

Can you do anything to distract yourself Up?

CaulkheadUpNorth · 08/02/2015 19:09

Yea defiantly, I'm just always aware of the cost of it and how much I will need to spend to fix my poor teeth.

Up how are things? Have you rung the number you were given the other day?

UpOnDown · 08/02/2015 19:11

I've just put the tv on to distract. I can't ring them.

Ennn · 08/02/2015 19:11

Yes DP has appalling teeth and they cost a fortune, even with his dental insurance Sad

UpOnDown · 08/02/2015 19:13

My teeth are fairly rubbish.

Ennn · 08/02/2015 19:14

Mine are okay - no fillings, bleeding, etc. - but I've a feeling I'll be getting a filling in the very near future Sad
