I have a special mental health badge I got from the charity I go to Hmm

Ennn · 06/02/2015 23:34

Let's end mental health discrimination by wearing badges proclaiming "Hey! I'm a fucking mental!" Grin

Dare I go out with it on?

Everyone asleep?

Ennn · 07/02/2015 00:11

Well done and kudosnfor resisting the temptation of the chocs Hellina; you be a better woman than I.

Ennn · 07/02/2015 02:54

Another few hours of Walking on Sunshine done. TBF it did mostly stop while I playwd GTA as it has music which didn't mesh well with it.

Have tried the "STOP." method, which works for about three or four seconds, tried other music, distraction… the. Best thing is focussing on a task with just the right amount of difficulty but at the moment that's tricky cause I can't focus/concentrate well on a single track for some reason :-/

Anyone awake?

Millie2013 · 07/02/2015 07:07

Me!! But you're probably asleep now

toothypeg · 07/02/2015 07:30

I'm awake. Funny how's it's those of us with small children.

Millie2013 · 07/02/2015 07:49

My small child thinks she's a teenager, she stays up a bit later on a Friday, as OH comes home, so she has a Saturday morning lie in. In fact, she lies in quite often, whereas in awake at 6!!

Mitchy1nge · 07/02/2015 07:53

I'm awake too, no small children but my severe and debilitating calf injury kept waking me up.

toothypeg · 07/02/2015 07:58

Poor you. Sounds far more painful than a wriggly toddler.

Mitchy1nge · 07/02/2015 08:44

it's very very sore but it will start to feel better quite soon I hope

then I can plan my return to running, I will do EXACTLY as they say this time

for today I don't know what to do, is hard to get comfortable unless am actually lying down - what are the rest of you up to?

Ivytheterrible · 07/02/2015 08:58

Awake here too unfortunately. It's my lie in day and I still got lumbered with the preschooler at 6am. God love her.

Ennn · 07/02/2015 09:12

Calf muscles and small childrnb t

Mitchy1nge · 07/02/2015 09:38

prefer the calf disorder to small children - it will heal faster than they take to grow out of disturbing ones sleep AND it doesn't make me watch Disney films

in one of my more astonishing feats of competence have achieved physio appointment for 11:30 am Monday - hope can drive by then, might try moving car around a bit in a minute, can't flex left ankle very freely or painlessly at present

Morning all. I'm off to ride big grey horse in the pouring rain.

HellinaHandbasket · 07/02/2015 09:50

I take it you're not doing the big race tomorrow then mitchy?

Mitchy1nge · 07/02/2015 09:51

ah it's you!

I have scrolled down, I only know one entirely hetero manic depressive psych and often wonder how she is, she was about to marry someone really horrible the last I heard Confused

no, I can't even walk properly and you know what they say about running and walking - I was wondering if I ran on purpose to make it worse, because I knew it wasn't better, because of pre-race apprehension, but then it would have been humiliating to have first ever DNF if it had happened on the course

do you still remember much internal medicine? is really frustrating to talk to people who have been through med school at public expense and can't remember the difference between ligaments and tendons

a cheerful and optimistic new persona for me :)

HellinaHandbasket · 07/02/2015 10:03

It's a long time since I had to think much about internal medicine but I can try and access the far reaches of my memory for you if it would help.

Ennn · 07/02/2015 10:03

Poor mitch.

HellinaHandbasket · 07/02/2015 10:03

Ha Polly, like the new name!

Ennn · 07/02/2015 10:05

Shock you've been an Inge forever

PollyPooic · 07/02/2015 10:16

was thinking someone should do a DVT assessment on me

also really really want to show someone my haematoma (that must be what it is?) before you need a magnifying glass to admire it

HellinaHandbasket · 07/02/2015 10:19

I'm afraid DVT assessment would be beyond me. Have you got a walk in centre you could go to? As you describe it it sounds very severe for simple muscle strain.
